Is the button icon support a feature that's still to be implemented or should it be in there now? I have the following mods in 7th Heaven (ordering in priority top to bottom):

Finishing Touch
Enhanced Stock UI
Shinra Archaeology Cut

Script changes are working but controller icons aren't (just says [Cancel] in Barret's opening chat) unless I disable Archaeology. Field Avatars on dialogue also don't work, but I can live without those. I've tired switching the order so Archaeology is above the UI mods but still getting the same result.

Still will be. My dad recently died and dealing with estate stuff and everything that comes along with that takes up a lot of my free time right now, so I haven't had a chance to mess with ff7 for awhile.

Hello Bonez.

I´m playing a new playthrough using this mod a this happen when I use Cure or a potion:


The menu dissapear, I have to press square to see it again.

I´m playing New Threat 2.0.

I can't replicate.


Must be something on your end with button mapping or possibly some ps3tweaks thing that messes with menu buttons... See if it does it without FT and/or ESUI.

You can use the old disc version, yes.

7th Heaven requires (and has always required) the English version of the game. Change the language for the game in Steam.

This mod is great, do you think you'll be able to make a version that has controller icons/ESUI support? I know the way Final Fantasy 7 works translation wise is janky but it would be great if it was supported since this IMO is the best and most accurate translation mod.

It's new threat. Things are supposed to be different. Items are in different places and story beats are different. I'm pretty sure all you ended up doing is cheating lol.

Yeah, they're previews that Shunsq posted in Discord. Again, I can't force Shunsq to post here. But regardless, there haven't been any actual field releases for them to post here. It was said the finished fields would be posted here. He never promised anything about posting previews or anything else here.

That's just silly. This isn't the Jusete/Project Edge forum. It's the Qhimm forum and there are new posts here everyday.

These are just posts that I haven't read. I can't help if it's not things that interest you. I don't know why you've started on this Discord tangent again, but cut it out. You constantly nagging about it isn't going to change anything and I've had to purge far too many conversations with you about it from Jusete's thread. Every time you start talking about Discord in the Jusete thread, I'm just going to keep merging it over here.

The last post here was almost 5 years ago. You're the one that's resurrected it. I just downloaded Echo-s this morning as a test and it downloaded fine... other large mods like limit break and syw are extremely big and therefore compressed. After they download they can take quite a while to unpack. some people get antsy and think it's messed up and cancel it. Let it do its thing.

guys all you gotta do is download the english version from steam... 7h has always required english. Prior to being steam-native, 7h never used ff7_fr or _es or anything else. It just used ff7.exe which is english. Now with steam, it also requires english which is _en.

AvockESUI, FInishing Touch and Retouch all do the same thing. They're themes for ESUI... Pick just one.

I'm aware of absolutely no bugs like this at all... Honestly I think this thread is nothing but a bunch of bots talking to each other unless one of you can prove me wrong lol.

Aavock ESUI Theme needs to make the borders wider on the main menu because some of the menu names don't fit in the border lines.

I don't know what you mean. It looks fine to me.

I'm finding myself a little split on NT 2.0.

I LOVE 1.5; it's FF7, the game we love, but with improved combat and tons of great added content. Some of that content could have been implemented more elegantly, or went just a bit too far, but it successfully created "FF7, but with extremely engaging gameplay and tons of new bosses."

I don't feel like that statement is true in 2.0. Type A is essentially the base game with the bosses given an overhaul, but missing all the added content, and Type B is a rearranged (but not necessarily better) game with improved (but seemingly not quite as engaging) gameplay and some (but missing some of the very good) added content from 1.5.

I feel like these are all too different to be the same mod. Ultimately the best experience I've had with these mods was with 1.5; the Kaiju fight between the guard scorpion and the dragon was unbelievably cool, for instance. I feel as though many people will hear about this mod and play 2.0, as the latest update just feels obvious to use, and those people won't have as good an experience as they would have with 1.5.

Not to be massively critical to the guy who made my favorite mod ever, 2.0 is still good of course, but is there any way that 2.0 could be made a different project? 1.5 is New Threat; 2.0 should be New Path, New Vision, or something of that nature.

Sorry if I'm being too critical, I just wanted to give honest feedback while it's in my mind.

Well, that's why 1.5 is still available if you prefer it. It's not just gone and replaced.

Is there a way a disable the new battle sounds? I tried disabling everything except the step sounds but the battle sounds still sound wrong to me.

I'd really like to keep those nostalgic sounds and only add the step sounds to that.

There aren't any mods currently available that do that, but it is possible to do via hext. However, it wouldn't be as simple as just changing one value. There's a value for every instance this happens... so like one for the item menu, one for the PHS menu. Some menus have several instances at once, like shops - there's one for buying and one for selling. There's probably upwards of 50 or so addresses and finding them wouldn't be so easy if you don't know what you're doing... It's possible, just don't know if it's worth the trouble.

This is a result of the way the 98 version of the game (which the current stable 7H uses) treats the name screen. You're supposed to actually type it on a keyboard. Even if you're using a keyboard WASD instead of a controller, it will disable WASD and turn into a regular keyboard for these screens. and the enter key (and therefore the "OK" button on controller in your case) goes to the "Select" option...

Basically, you can either use the keyboard or update to 7H canary which now uses the Steam version instead of the 98 conversion version (the Steam version doesn't have this keyboard "feature")

If you do update, the canary (and the next stable for that matter) requires a fresh install for the same reason -  we've switched to the Steam version.
