I don't know, I like it. I mean yeah you gotta' fix the face obviously. The other things that need cleaned up are the textures, and I think the torso looks a little fat. This is an early model though, so I'm sure the textures will be more deatiled later on down the line. Also, if you're going for realistic, bright yellow hair might not be the way to go.

It has to do with why he's stopping work on the mod. Leave it at that. Begging him to release what he had done isn't going to make him do it.

Indeed we could. But squeeble has good (not optimal) reasons for simply vanquishing his project, so it's up to him either to be generous or to leave everything as is

He has EXTREMELY good reasons for leaving the project, and not giving anyone anything If anything I'm probably still going to release the weapons, seeing how those are my work. But I'd really like to get a new team together and do something similar, squeeble said it was totally cool if I did, I'm in the same boat as Dje. I'm only so-so when it comes to 3D modeling (I use MilkShape thoguh, I actually wanted to purchase a 3D modeling program and it was cheap) and decent when it comes to textures, but character models are waaaay over my head. Field models even more so, because I have no experience with them.

I personally don't want to see this idea die all together, and I know there are some people working on similar things, Dje, murak, ice_cold, the NPC RP crew. I say we pull our resources together.

Nope. I don't know how it works on the PS1 version, but in the PC version, the weapon models are part of the character models. As a very important side note, squeeble might have to discontinue his work, for personal reasons. I'll let him announce all that though, what I'm hoping can happen is that I will resume work on the mod, but I'm not very good with character modeling, or making them work well in game, so I'm going to need some help if this mod is ever going to get finished.

My two suggestions are:

1- Make sure the black is color index 0

2- Just scrap the model and redo it, and don't do the step that screwed it up

If you have photoshop then use this simple tutorial. http://www.idigitalemotion.com/tutorials/guest/easy_glass_orb/easy_glass_orb.html
And then use Image -> Adjustments -> Color Balance to make the orb the color you want.

I'm working on new models for the Materia that you see on the field right now, and Pcreator is NOT liking the 256 color bitmaps I'm making for the textures. I was just wondering if I should be choosing a special option in photoshop in the Indexed Color menu. Here's some pics to show you what I'm talking about:


Here is the texture as an 8-bit 256 color bitmap I chose Local (Perceptual) because it makes it not look like garbage


Here's how it ends up looking in Pcreator

I mean zoomed out to the size it would actually appear in game, it doesn't look too bad. I'm just sort of a stickler for things not looking nasty.

I dunno, maybe I'm just being a little harsh on them. They don't look so bad when I'm not zoomed all the way in on them.

I'm going to keep this short, just because I don't like typing that much. I'll try to sort of make my point coherently though. I don't think gun control really matters all that much. It's like how drugs are illegal. If some dude wants to shoot another guy, he'll get a gun. It doesn't matter if he can or not. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think we should be all running around with guns all ailly nilly, but I also don't think that some sort of government control over them would actually help the situation. I mean think about all those rednecks that want us all to have guns all willy nilly. Now think about the dude a the gun store where they got their guns. You think that guy would actually listen to gun control laws? Or do you think he would start up a small weapons black market? To him, he'd be making even more profit that way because he wouldn't have to give any of the money to the government. I don't know though, those are just my two cents. Like I said, I'm all for us trying to figure out a way to solve the problem, but gun control won't help any.

Yeah, I like the Soul Edge better than the one I got anways. The Smash Hammer looks awesome in game by the way.

Vyper: No Masamune for Cloud. Sephiroth already uses it.

Okay idea time. I need to make one more sword, should it be a serious FF7-world sword, or a novelty sword. I don't have any ideas right now for the FF7-world one, but I was thinking that if I wanted to go novelty that I would make the Soul Calibur.

Give me untill a little bit later tonight, I onl have 2 more swords to finish up and I got all of Cloud's weapons done. I got a list of all the weapons and where you get them, so I figured that I'd use that to come up with what weapons to replace with what.


Here's the Chainsaw Blade. Now all I have to do is finish the texture on the Junk Sword, and I'll almost be done. Here's a list of Cloud's Weapons and what they replace:

Buster Sword stays.
Shin-Ra Powerblade- Stolen from SOLDIER: 3rd in Shin-Ra Tower (Replaces Hardedge)
Zack's Sword- Shop in Kalm Town (Replaces Mythril Saber)
Shin-Ra Collector's Blade- 150+ Performing in Junon, shop in North Corel (Replaces Force Stealer)
Toxic's Keyblade- Shop in Cosmo Canyon (Replaces Butterfly Edge)
Buster Axe- Nibelheim Mountains (Replaces Rune Blade)
Junk Sword- Man outside of Shop in Rocket Town (replaces Yoshiyuki)
Helix Blade- Shop in Wutai (Replaces Murasame)
Smash Hammer- Temple of the Ancients (Replaces Nail Bat)
Souba- Shop at Icicle Inn (replaces Organics)
Master Sword- Gaea's Cliff (Replaces Enhance Sword)
Lightsaber- Shop in Mideel (Replaces Crystal Sword)

That's funny, because I was thinking of making a hammer anyways. Squeeble... you're going to hate me for this hammer, but I have to use a big texture file for it, I tried shrinking it and it made it look like crap. But anyhoo, here's the Smash Hammer:
