Quesiton about Bitmaps

I'm working on new models for the Materia that you see on the field right now, and Pcreator is NOT liking the 256 color bitmaps I'm making for the textures. I was just wondering if I should be choosing a special option in photoshop in the Indexed Color menu. Here's some pics to show you what I'm talking about:


Here is the texture as an 8-bit 256 color bitmap I chose Local (Perceptual) because it makes it not look like garbage


Here's how it ends up looking in Pcreator

I mean zoomed out to the size it would actually appear in game, it doesn't look too bad. I'm just sort of a stickler for things not looking nasty.

**EDIT**
I dunno, maybe I'm just being a little harsh on them. They don't look so bad when I'm not zoomed all the way in on them.

Well... I found some bugs while converting textures with Pcreator.  Sometimes the colors just don't convert properly.  Try using ficedula'S LGP tools.

1-Open the char.lgp with LGP Tools.
2-Right click on any tex files and click replace.
3-Select your .bmp file.
4-Right click on the same tex files and click extract.
5-Save the tex files wherever you want.

Hmm this is quite interesting seeing as your texture is high resolution but when you apply it in Pcreator it goes all funny is kinda wierd. I could help you out with this if you'd like?

Sure I mean it's not a HUGE deal yet, I mean you were going to get the models and textures eventually. I was making this for the mod, just as something I thought would be easy.

I'll make a few more item models, and send you a pack of 3ds files and hi-res bmps for you to play around with as much as you like.

Where is the blue materia? :-P If you can create the blue one I'm surely going to use yours instead of the original used in the PC game.

I need them to create my website menu. If I have your permission of course :-)

I'm very bad with Photoshop and with all other programs like that one :roll: I was wondering if it's so difficult? Because If I can create four or five different view of the same materia color, my menu will be great :-D

Anyway It's a very good work :-)

If you have photoshop then use this simple tutorial. http://www.idigitalemotion.com/tutorials/guest/easy_glass_orb/easy_glass_orb.html
And then use Image -> Adjustments -> Color Balance to make the orb the color you want.
