General Discussion / Re: FFX modding scene dead ?

Oh I forgot that Kal put some "DRM" into UNX to prevent them to use it (and I like it *lol).

Isn't the above way easier to do with UNX...?

78
Great to see that you're still engaged tirlititi!
Awesome work! :)

79
So right now I can't do anything with your unpacker/repacker or did I miss anything?
What is it good as of now and isn't there really a possibility to unpack the texture files? :(

80
I don't think there's another LEGIT version besides the Steam version.

81
The lz files that are extracted from the dat like in streaming.
The game operates in OpenGL sadly. :/ I could manage to hook it via umod but it's not running that well and has some graphic error. :/

82
Thanks again Maki!

I tried it and you guess: Epic fail (or almost)...
At least I could decompress the dat's, that worked. The files in the folder can't be decompressed though. It says "Not LZ77 compressed file; Header is wrong!"

If I use -unzl77 on a random *.lz file decompress it as the filename I give it but how do I know it's a texture? Going over aprox 5.100 could take loooong. *_*

83
This looks really amazing. :)

84
Can you also add some ao to the brickwork on the bottom right?

85
Looks really great.
To ground it I would still prefer that f you could add some ambient occlusion to it. But besides that it's really great.

86
Hi Maki, no problem!
I'll gladly wait for it. =)

87
Looking forward to adept it to my ffix workflow. :)

88
That really looks spectacular!

89
It works!
How can I test the LZ77Decompress you posted, Maki. Or should I wait for your C Version?
Sorry, I'm a noob when it comes down to such things. ^^

Well think of him what you want, but I use all his mod on the Games that where kind of broken. But this isn't about Kal,so best is not to move into that route.
I don't think that a lot of people want to mod FFX as the files are really large but let's see what that Phyre unpacker can. :)

Skip cutscenes, 60 fps support, music sfx & voice replacement, sphere grid modding (u can change the nodes in memory editor, but not the structure), free camera control like the prototype version had, speed-up booster working all the time, boss modding, remove the annoying delay in the battle menu, add english subtitles when in battle. Just to name a few

Cutscene Skipping and Free Camera are supported by UnX already. :)
FFX-2 you can skip the cutscene without a mod but you will not get the 100% at the end.

92
Okay I'll try it out and see what the results are. :)

So I've setup Python and I can see that it works when I use cmd and type python I get the >>>
From there I use python.exe _ffiv.py and I get this error message:

Code: [Select]
>>> python.exe _ffiv.py
  File "<stdin>", line 1
    python.exe _ffiv.py
                   ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

I changed your filepath so it matches mine. Am I missing something?

I don't want to you to help if you don't have the time.
I wanted to only ask you how you setup your sfx player in ffvii. I want to do the same and I think I know where I want to set it up. :)

DLPB Is there a way we can chat?
Private Messages are blocked at your end.

Maybe Skype or good old ICQ? ^^

Thanks again DLPB.
Oh well, then the only hope left is that tirlititi can add something like a sound effects player.

Was it hard doing that in FFVII with Makou?

I'm really mad that the AKAO files cant be used to recreate the sound effects as they where meant. xD
There's a sequencer for the Music but none for the sound effects (sadly)... Y_Y
