Help with mods
« on: 2008-03-28 03:56:04 »
[noob]Im trying to get the mods to work and I cant figure out how to do any of them. I have extracted char and tried to run the npc and sephiroth  mod but they both they that the char folder is empty. Then i tried to use 9999 hp/mp/damage break and it says its patched but it doesnt change it. I also tried to use the transparent boxes too and also didnt work. Any help with this will be great. I can upload screen shots if you need. PLEASE HELP [/noob]

Any error messages with YAMP? Are there any new files created? Like backup_ff7.exe or the debug file?

Mind uploading the debug file somewhere? Or post the content here if it's not too big.

You didn't put any patches in the "patches" folder.

ok update: i got the npc patch to work but with sephiroth patch it say the folder contains nothing to update.

Update 2: i tried to install your patches and now the game crashes as soon as it starts.

Now the debug info would be useful.

Before applying any of my patches, ensure that FF7 is working and there are no backup files (backup_ff7.exe). Also, which version of FF7 are you using?

Well, you should use install.bat from YAMP, not Skerb.exe. Can you link me to the post you downloaded it from?

Where, oh where does it state to use Skerb.exe... It's even renamed to Skerb.ex_, so it doesn't attract your attention... I'm done here. Either you stick to the installation guide, or just leave it.
