Hi all,

New user here and all. First of all, thanks for this amazing mod work!

Now, I installed everything and checked that it worked in game. But what if I want to add let's say a new mod, or change a character model? I also noticed I'm missing MO.exe (it's in red) but apparently the game started well without it.

My question is, do I need to run the whole lengthy "Run Bootleg" process, each time I change something or is it another quicker way?

Sadly you need to run it all over again. This will change for the next release.

I see. That I'm sure will be a great change.

Still though I'm curious that I can run the game fine without MO.exe (it's listed as red in mod list). Anyway maybe I shall try adding it and see if it's interesting.

Hey Guys,

First thing, this is amazing and I love you guys for making this.

But, I am having a issue within the game itself. Everything loads fine and I can get to the point of the first fight but after i kill them (when it should turn into the experience menu) the game crashes.
This also happens when I click + before that intial fight.
It just looks like the menus are not working for me.

I get FF7.exe has stopped working and needs to shut down.

Thanks for the help!

Menus affected? Possible causes:

- Missing mod/file when installing,
- Unconverted Steam version or
- Installed in system folder (Program Files, Desktop, My Documents, etc).

At any rate you need to reinstall. What is your LastUsed.bp? It's a text file, just post the contents here.

Yeah, I bought it from steam but I followed the exact step by step insructions. Perhaps the torrent missed some files in the mod? I have it running from C:/Games/FF7.

I'll try to get you that file when I get home.

Sounds like Menu Overhaul might have been missing from the installation.

Thanks for the file names. I've already edit and fixed them for the next release. If you want them before then, I can give them to install manually. I don't have the time right now to sort through and find the last texture for Emerald Weapon. If you, or anyone else, can find this for me, that'll be a big help. I'll edit it right away and add it to the rest of the fixes.
Sounds great! Yes, I'd really appreciate a pack of only the fixed PNG files :)

I will try to find the Emerald Shoot textures and I'll let you know if I succeed.

The torrent is all well and up to date :)

There we go, I found a pretty easy way to locate the correct files! Just delete your cache, restart the game, wait for the enemy to use the attack you are looking for, quit the game and check your cache for the file names :).

Yeah I don't even have the LastUsed.dp in my computer. Is there something I can do or should I try a complete reinstall?

That's no surprise. Maybe you should try to search for LastUsed.bp instead ;)

It's in the same folder as Bootleg.

When you open BFE and go in Mod Listing, does anything appear read?

I'll check these options in a sec.

Music is dealt with FF7Music. It needs to run, so you need to launch one of the shortcuts that were created on your desktop.

Hi so I got the game to work perfectly, with all mods and everything. But my hard drive started to go out so I moved everything to another HD but I had to reinstall everything. Im using the 2012 remake BTW, but whenever I use the game converter and test ff7.exe the game coloring and quality is terrible, almost like its 8-bit. Any idea why? I'm running Windows 7 x64

Where is your game installed? If it's in Program Files, My Documents or the Desktop you will need to move it outside of those places. You can try ignoring the Game Converter and installing Bootleg directly. Bootleg already has a Game Converter included. Kompass' GC is mainly for the Steam version. It will work with the 2012 re-release, though. If it doesn't work (and it should), make sure you have a vanilla install with nothing else than the game itself, then follow the tutorial step-by-step.

The install directory is FF7DISC1>Games>FF7>Final Fantasy 7. I tried modding with bootleg without game converter last time and the mods didn't install properly but I'll try it again. How do I do a vanilla install? Is that the same as custom install?

Is there anyway to get the Music to run automatically through the bootloader? Also, to have it automatically mount the play disk?
Other than that it looks to run perfectly.

Thanks again!

This is only as information!
The new custom openGL driver supports ogg music files natively and don't need FF7music anymore. But due to some internal changes it's not full compatible with Bootleg.

So, I got everything working finally but I still for some reason cannot get the music to work. When I load the game the FF7 music automatically loads but no music is played. Any ideas?
