I'm all for making the models look better, but they look so weird compared to everything else in the game, especially when you run into non updated NPC's, and because the proportions are different, animations look really strange, just doesn't look good IMO!

Releases / gjoerulv's "Hardcore" mod
« on: 2009-08-11 02:24:05 »
The final release wont be released 'til the end of august or later. This will be the final release. I feel there are enough modding tools available for anyone to make a mod like this one without too much trouble.

I've tried the current version of this mod, its hard, lol. I've played ff7 so many times and I tend to rush the story, this mod is forcing me to slow down and train alot more, which is a good thing really...

Just tried the download but, File is Missing??

Halkun, I am familliar with the rules, you seem to be posting them just about everywhere,  :| but if you had read my first post you would have known I was talking about the Vincent Model and not the DW model, plus I haven't edited or ripped this model anyone can download it from the Jedi Knight website, just like you can download APZ's cloud, same thing...

Also please take note of when this topic was made, (before the new rules!) Also note that I didn't make this topic...

Phew... lol

Well to be fair, the vincent model isn't THAT good, its just nice to have a higher res version, especially since most people have high res versions of cloud, Tifa and Aerith

OK follow these steps:

1.Download Yamp and all the patches you want from the first post of this topic http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=5124.0

2.Extract all the files

3.In the YAMP folder make a folder called 'patches'

4.Copy the .srb and .txt files from each of the patch folders and paste the files into the new 'patches' folder you just made

5.Copy the contents of the YAMP folder (not the actual folder) to your FF7 directory (defult= C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII)

6.Run the file called install, If you use Vista, run it as an administrator (Right Click and choose this option)

7.Thats IT! Like Makubex said don't rename the Backup_FF7.exe because that is a copy of your old .exe, just run the game by clicking on the new FF7.exe

Simple!

Don't worry, all I needed was a plugin for a .glm importer in my 3d moddling program, and to be clear, this model is fan made so I did not rip it from another game  :-D

I downloaded this vincent fan model from the jedi knight website and was wondering how to convert it to a .3ds or .obj so I can edit it. Does anyone know?

Can I just ask a quick question... How does Maya differ from 3ds Max, they are both Autodesk programs correct?

its too fast for a noobs  :-P , is that milkshape?

Its Blender download it here http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/

You will also need Python 2.6.2 http://www.python.org/download/ (The Higher Version Python 3.1 does not work correctly)

Both are completely free as they are open-source

Save each part of the PRP model into seperate .p files and then replace them with the originals models parts, do this by double clicking the part and save, then double click the originals parts and load, then just re-position it.

Does it not say successfully converted when you press the 'convert' button?

Let's use AAAA.hrc as an example.  If I press convert there will now be an AAAA.3ds file and AAAA.bmp file.  It's an export function.  It doesn't actually convert AAAA.hrc.

I'm thinking you probably already knew that though...

Biturn by defult will put the 3ds and bitmap files in the same directory, I find it easier if you save to the desktop, after this just use the import function in your 3d moddling software and browse to the 3ds file

by the way millenia, its about your barret model. Its awesome! I really love this model but I don't see the belt that he has got with a few bullets.
Sorry, this is not a critique, only a commentary. awesome job with all the models!  :-)

The Barret model is Timu Sumisu's, you should post a reply in his topic about his models http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=8704.0
