I'm watching Zegapain at the moment and it's awesome, I'm only on the 13th episode and I'm hooked, kinda sad storyline though...

Looking great Akari, Q-Gears is coming along really well

I use a mac, not sure if it's already been calibrated but you can do it manually in the display preferences.

I think Akari's still working on stuff from looking at their recent posts in the Tech Related forum, so it's more of a case of no-one's posting any news, just working on it privately.

Reality is not what it seems. The lead character is happily living out his youth in high school only to one day be shown that this life he has been living was only a simulation which repeats itself every year.

That anime sounds awesome, I hope it has fansubs.

Q-Gears / Re: Emulator or Engine?
« on: 2007-02-18 17:48:16 »
From my understanding the difference between a PSX emulator and Q-Gears is that Q-Gears runs Final Fantasy 7 with native code that loads the files directly, whereas an emulator loads the original engine and dynamically recompiles the code to work with your processor, obviously the former will be much faster and therefore more compatible with differing hardware types, Q-Gears also opens up the possibility of Final Fantasy 7 to be played on pretty much any machine assuming it can handle it, so this allows for ports to consoles and PDA's with a bit of work.

Q-Gears / File format support
« on: 2007-02-14 06:50:47 »
I've been wondering recently if Q-Gears will allow for the use of PSX FF7 files mixed together with PC FF7 files? For example using PSX movies and Sound with the rest of the files from the PC version?

What about systems that don't have OpenGL (like the GP2X) :-P

Will you be implementing software rendering in the future?

Q-Gears / OpenGL?
« on: 2006-12-02 15:34:46 »
I was just thinking, Q-Gears uses OpenGL to render 3D, so how would it be able to run on systems that don't have any 3D hardware accelleration, would Software Rendering be supported?

Systems like the GP2X wouldn't be able to run Q-Gears due to a lack of 3D hardware or support for OpenGL, would Software Rendering overcome this problem?

The only thing I noticed that doesn't seem to be working correctly is the density of certain areas.

You mean that walkmesh doesn't fit background? I haven't working on that yet.

47
Are those background filtered? They don't look as pixelated as usual :-P
