Just a little idea about Tifa. I did a modified version of her a few time ago for the NPC RP. It got very bad critics and thus was scrapped. I must admit that it had some serious issues, most notably the face (which looked quiet bad). I fixed some of the problems, but haven't touched the head yet. I think it would be intersting to see how the model turned out with KH2 Tifa's head in model I did.

Excelent job. I didn't expected these models to work so well in-game.

Awwww... let's calm, please. There is no point on fighting each other. Everyone has his share of reason.
I can see why some newbies get bashed by Jari (and others). I think the language it's quiet a big barrier on it's own for us to keep enlarging it being too nitpicky. Then again, I don't see Jari reproaching people for every single mistake they do. On the other hand, I can see how a too low spelling level can hurt the communication, specially for non-natives (like myself).
But the focus of this discussion is if Jari's methods are too "expeditive". Well, I think you are a bit too harsh sometimes. It's obvious that it's an effective way of keeping the forum level from degenerating. What I wonder is if it's necessary. It's not that we have a noobs plague or something. In fact, we have an ever decreasing active membres population. I wonder if scaring people away systematically will help at all.
Anyway, I understand that's the policy of the admins in this forum. Since this place basically belongs them, it's logic that we have to follow the rules they impose to use it. The day I don't find those rules fair, I'll simply leave. And no, don't get me wrong, this isn't any kind of threat.

By the way, thanks for the information ultima_espio.

Well, actually I'd say that Cowboy Bebop is nearly all filler. How many episodes actually belong to the main story? 6? Not that it really matters. Cowboy Bebop it's a great anime even without a solid plot line.
As for Bleach and Naruto, well, you are mostly right. They start strong, but as new plots keep comming you can see they are weaker every time and eventually you start hating the main characters.

That's looking excelent Squeeble. I'd use the original hair though. It's pretty well made already. About the trasparency, keep in mind that FF7 takes as trasparent the first color of the pallete (index 0).

Sorry Squeeble, but I've only been able to find information about decoding the first frame of the animations (thanks to L.Spiro). If someone has already found the way to decode it, I'd be more than glad to hear it and implement it on Kimera.

By the way, nice work (specially with Master Tonbery :-P).

Very interesting project squeeble. I think adding some precalculated lighting could be good too (not possible with the current version of Kimera). As for showing the skeleton, it's an easy task. I supose I can add an option to do so in the next version of my program.

Well Thatamos, now that was a surprising anounce! As stormmedia said, we'd be very glad if you posted some images from your project.

About your cuestion regarding the PS1 version, sorry, I must say it's way too hard. Because of the way files are stored and read in the PS1 version, you can't simply replace files and expect the game to keep working, unless they are smaller or equal in size (which would defeat the purpose).

By the way, great model stormmedia! I still think the nose makes her a bit manly though.

Thanks Reunion. Now at least I know it's possible. But I've got a little problem... were can I find information about the material definition :-P. I know you sent me part of your code, but when I went to download it, it was gone.

Nice job Reunion, as usual. By the way, now that I see you here, do yo know if transparent groups work for field models?
Abou the legal stuff, I agree with Otokoshi. It would be absurd to ask for photos of the game. It's way too easy to fake and also way too boring for the poor soul that had to do the job.

« on: 2007-03-21 18:39:41 »
This has been discused many times. It's most likely a codecs problem. FF7 doesn't support all the available codecs. Personally, I had luck long ago with DivX 3. I think I've heard of succesful stories with indeo. You must reencode your video with one of those supported codecs.

Most likely it's a bug in Kimera. Anyway, when did the error appear? As soon as you opened the file?

That's quiet interesting. Could you tell me the monster you are trying to edit?

What the... what's wrong with Sony? Can't they make a decent PSX emulator at least? Man, If they have problems with this, I don't want to know how long will they take to run some PS2 games on their emulator.

Well, I think shortening the legs worked quiet well:

Thanks for the advice  :-D

As for the discussion, of course we want feedback. You can't progress without some construtive criticism. But you know, sometimes too much bad feedback can hurt. And I can see why ice_cold513 got pissed. With all those absurd requests he gets via PM everyone would end up hating humanity.

Anyway, I don't think this matter need any more comments.

Well, don't know about the bottle. Presonally I don't think changing its model would have a significant impact on the game graphic style but I supose we could make a poll :-P.
Anyway, here you have the last model I've been working on:

This model has been much harder than I expecetd. I thought I could use my scrapped Tifa model as a base, but it looks like her animations were completly incompatible.
I think there is something wrong with this model. Some kind of misproportion, but I can't tell exactly what's worng. Maybe I'm just going mad. If someone sees some specific problem I'd be glad to hear about it.

The only emulator that has a small chance of running something you want to rip models from is PCSX2 0.92. All the others are far, far away of running 3D comercial games.
I've heard that you can use a program called DX Ripper to dump 3D infomation from any application running under DirectX. Never tried it though.

Thanks Veheck, but meant the models that are suposed to be allways transparent. I supose I'll have to find out myself.

Mmmm... maybe Gungrave? It's a good anime, but I hate gangsters, so I wanted the main characters to die all the time.

Well, I'd recomend Trigun. It looks a bit goofy at first, but as the plot progresses, you can see a very intersting futuristic western story.

Hello everyone.
Ice_col513 informed me lately that he has been unable to render field models transparent in FF7 PC. He created those models with PCreator. I remember I've seen screenshots posted by Reunion with a character holding a transparent sword. My question is, does the transparency level of a group have any meaning outside of battles?
Thanks for your time.

Well, I think "funny" isn't the best word to describe it. That anime has very few of comedy. Althought it has some really hilarious scenes. "Give me back my leg!!!" I laughed a lot with that :-D (but I wonder if that's what the authors actually wanted).
Beware, this anime has some extremly gory scenes (far more than what you could have seen in a Resident evil or a Silent Hill game). The first episode it's specially hard.
