Releases / Re: NPC Reconstruction Project
« on: 2006-06-10 15:59:14 »
so this patch is basically the Reunion Patch but the characters are the same size as the default models as opposed to the larger models shown when using the reunion patch ?

does this patch automatically incorporate the reunion patch and then resize the images? or do i need to install reunion patch first?

or...

do i just install this patch without using the reunion patch ?

cheers all

yeh thats when i get it mostly, end of battle to fanfare music

sucks, hopefully someone can get a fix for this, it would be alot nicer to be able to battle as often as possible without the worry of knowing the game will crash. Tthats why i dont battle as often as i did when i played the game on ps1 :(

rebooting randomly can be a CPU overheating issue

is your CPU overclocked? do you have good ventilation in your system ?

i dont know whether it will help anyone

but i run ff7 using my nvidia synthesiser as opposed to the microsoft one (i choose this setting in ff7config)

being an audio related issue (being winmm.dll) i figured this info might be of use to gaining a bug fix ?

Archive / winmm.dll error Please Help :(
« on: 2006-06-02 19:01:23 »
Hey all

Im about 55 hours into the game, ive reached disc 3, im just messing around at the battle square at the mo to get w-summon.

ANYWAYS

Ive got a little problem, and its irritating the hell outta me, and i dunno how to fix it. I know people have posted about this before, but from searching these forums, im yet to find anyone who can solve it.

Basically, at the end of random battles, just as the fanfare music would begin, my screen cuts to black for a few seconds, and then goes to the desktop where i get an error in "winmm.dll"

It happens quite regularly now, alot more than it used to. It has happened once at the chocobo races, and its now beginning to happen in battle square, when it never used to.

Is there a cure for this little error, I want to make the most out of the game, but i cant if i keep having stupid random crashes after most battles.

My specs are:

Windows XP Home SP2
AMD Athlon XP3200+ Barton 2.2ghz
1024mb pc3200 ddr400 corsair
nVidia Geforce 6800LE 128mb
120gb HDD
MSI K7N2 nForce2 400mhz mobo

During disc 1 and the beginning of disc 2, i got the crashes, but not very often. Recently though, during the majority of disc 2 and now on disc 3, im getting them more frequently.

Its wierd because, I never used to get these crashes at battle square, I got 32000 and got omnislash by fighting about 15 to 20 battles and it didnt crash once. Now im after w-summon, its crashing almost everytime with this winmm.dll

I tried replacing the file, but everytime i tried it just said "file in use"

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers all

k ive got the game running, 5 hours into it, high res, psx music working

i installed reunion and it worked a treat, it looks amazing visually.

however, i got into a battle and got an error, and ff7 crashes. i uninstalled reunion by overwriting the files with the backups, and i havent had a crash since.

luckily, id just saved the game b4 the crash. so i think its safe for me not to use reunion, even though it does make the game look alot sexier.

thanks for all the help fellas :)

steve

so is it best to play without reunion. i want the best i can get for FF7, but i dont want the thought of gettin far and crashing without saving =[

15
ok ive installed it all, and ive got it working

when i was running to escape the bomb blast at the beginning of disk one, with the timer in the top left, the music was playing, it got to the end, and didnt play again.

how come ? does it not loop? theres an option in ff7music which says "loop music" or something, i ticked it, but it dont loop :o

also, if i install the reunion patch, will i be able to play the game without crashes? i dont want to get real far, and it crashes shortly before a save point :)

thankyou :)

with ff7music

are there any specific DLL versions i need? or specific versions of the patch ?

17
thanks dz for the help.

1 last question. after taking a look at the reunion page, i quite like the look of it. where abouts would i install this? i mean, in which order?

1. Make sure that your FF7.exe is the 1.02 version and untinkered with.
2. Install the high-res patch (latest 0.99).
3. Get the FF7Music with FF7 PSF. Follow the readme included to the detail.

I have that so far, where would you recommend I do the reunion?

thanks all, great site, great game, let it live forever ^^

ok ive just done more researching into this forum and found someone posted this:

Will doing this, allow me to run FF7 on Windows XP, with high res graphics and PSX music and have the chocobo problem fixed ?

i think thats what im after.

I also question, what does the reunion patch do? does it make the graphics look better? if so, does anyone have any "before/after" screenies ? and also, can you make the videos look any better? theyre very pixellated. i know this is due to resolutions being stretched? but surely theres a patch available? 32bit or something?

thanks all

hey all, just got a legit copy of ff7 from a friend who had it who dont play it no more, woohoooo, so lucky. i played in on ps but my ps broke, now i get to play it again on pc (im on the pc more than consoles anyways)

anyways, i have a few questions regarding getting the best out of FF7 on the pc.

ive downloaded numerous patches, which should i install.

I would like to have PSX music and not midi's but im unsure as to whether i can have this ASWELL AS the high-res graphics ?

If so what order shall i install the patches ? I tried installing hi res using the multi-patch thing and it worked. if i tried it using the seperate stand-alone high res patch, it wouldnt, said a cr2 error ? is this cuz ive installed other patches?

i had some errors and couldnt get what i wanted, so ive uninstalled and installed again, and i will install the patches once i get feedback from you all here.

So.....

1: Fresh Install
2: Official Patch ?
3: Win XP Patch ?
4: high res patch ?
5: High Res Cloud Model Patch ?
6: Chocobo Patch ?
7: Other patch here ?

Which order shall i install them in? ive seen numerous posts here, all seem different and confusing.

Sorry to post this if its been answered before, im just a huge fan of the game, and seeing as advent children is on the horizon, id like to finish the game once more so i understand the movie better.

Thankyou kindly

Steve

« on: 2005-09-18 22:17:02 »
i installed this patch today i am confused. could you please answer my questions.

1. Do i have to aply the patch to the "original" ff7.exe, because i have already patched it with the winxp patch before i even found this multi-patch.

2. Can i check the 2 boxes on the install "sounds" and "hi res" and have both good sound and hi-res graphics ? i tried it, and it got hi res graphics, but there was no music. Not even midi, in the field or in battles.

Please respond asap so i can replay this fantastic game on the pc instead of the psone
