is that another of those "documentaries" that starts with some facts, and then gets more and more absurd (like zeitgeist? ). or is it more realistic?

Yo NameSpoofer, I'm the guy who asked you about that empty folder. Thanks for making that video for me. ;)

Btw this is very nice. You better release it as soon as possible.

4
It's pretty good. Thank you.

Dling all.

Why have you two necro-bumped this thread? its not really for posting in anymore. Apz Freak has gone on to start a cloud which he will release. any questions or comments regarding him releasing stuff or making this can go here, i think...
He's finished that cloud now, and its only a matter of time before he does the same thing he did in this thread, apart from maybe the sephiroth.

I just found this thread, how would I know!? -.-

6
Alright one question, where can I find some info's on making one?

Hmm I know some guy who makes this. I think I'm gonna go download it again and see if I can install it.

Thanks, i'll look at those links tomorrow,  kinda busy now, about to go out and watch the UFC fights, henderson is fighting franklin.

That's nice to know he finally admitted he will make a remake eventually,  I wasn't aware he actually admitted to it.

EDIT:  and this is what i meant by 1rst link is screwed up,  this is all i see on that page

maxElements) { var newCookie = ''; var delim = ''; for ( var i = (cookieParts.length - maxElements); i < cookieParts.length; i++) { if (newCookie) { delim = delimiter; } newCookie += delim + cookieParts; } return newCookie; } return cookie; } function thumbsWriteIdCookie(id) { var date = new Date(); date.setDate(date.getDate()+30); if (thumbscookiedata) { thumbscookiedata = truncateCookie(thumbscookiedata, '|', 9); document.cookie = 'thumbs=' + thumbscookiedata + '|' + id + '; expires=' + date.toGMTString() + '; path=/;'; } else { document.cookie = 'thumbs=' + id + '; expires=' + date.toGMTString() + '; path=/;'; } } function thumbscheckIdCookie(id) { thumbscookiedata = thumbsGetIdCookie('thumbs'); if (thumbscookiedata != '') { if (thumbscookiedata != 'undefined') { if (thumbscookiedata != 'null') { var nameVal = thumbscookiedata.split('|'); for (var i=0; i

Haha kk.

That's weird. 1st link works fine for me, probably just your browser.

1rst link is screwed up

2nd link was a waste of my time

3rd link however was quite interesting, of course a lot of people are just gonna say "it's not referring to a remake of ff7 it's referring to a sequel or spin off blah blah blah"

I for one think there will be a remake... eventually.  Maybe for whatever comes after the ps3, maybe for the ps3, I don't know, but eventually.

1st link is screwed? How so?

"When Square Enix showed off a tech demo of the opening of FFVII with improved graphics and character designs more like Advent Children, many people took this to suggest that a remake was in order. Which is indeed the case - director/producer Tetsuya Nomura admitted to 1UP that he does indeed intend to turn it into a remake (when he gets to it). "

2nd link was just to show how many fans. (There are a lot more of course)

Glad to hear it's working.

Weird I never really had to install that Klite codec (I know most people needed it) to get my FMV's working. The only codec that I used was the Truemotion and everything runs fine.

Maybe I already had the other codecs from the beginning.

Did you really believe that the FFVII clip was only a demo?  They always had it in mind before they even decided to release it on E3.

Of course it will take some time but I'm sure there will be. Only time will tell.

Chin up.

I just did a fresh install and installed the 1.02 patch. I did the Nvidia/TNT check and... no go. I tried all the different compatibility modes and still nothing.

Eidos music starts... then
"FF7 has encountered a problem and needs to close."

I also tried installing the ff7betap1 but it quits to the desktop right after I agree to the EULA. What else did you do to get yours running besides ticking the NVIDIA/TNT box?

Hmm, I'm not really good with this. Wait till dzuigo comes, he usually knows the answer when it comes to these kinds of crashes.

But first you gotta make sure that you're doing it right. Be careful on putting some patches because there are some patches that will only work if you put them in order. I'm sure that you need to put the 1.02 patch first (before doing anything else) then the high res patch (if you use them). I had problems like that (not the same but almost similar to yours) and it was because of the patches or the FF7 Configuration sometimes.

There are also some patches that have missing files. This link is always good because it always works check it out, you might like some patches to use:  http://fem1.uniag.sk/Miroslav.Jezik/ff7ncopam.html

It can also be because of your codec. Try to install the Truemotion 2.0 codec. If you can, try to reinstall it again with that codec. Did you check the two required drivers during your first installation? They say that you should uncheck both of them. Truemotion 2.0 codec (just take out that ff7betap1 and manually install the codec, that ff7betap1 might also be an older version idk) :  http://forums.eidosgames.com/archive/index.php/t-62737.html

First things first. In your FFVII Configuration (chocobo icon) check both Nvidia and TNT. See if that helps.

I'm using 64-bit Vista and no problems so I don't see why you having some problems with yours.

Recurring black screen after the FMVs might indicate the problem with the avi splitter.

Is that so? You know how to fix it? What should I do?
I was talking to the Swampthing15. Didn't make it clear, sorry for that. You're getting the black screen while the FMV is running, he gets it after the FMV. The latter might be a problem with avi splitter, and the fix is to disable it (search for "gabest" in the forums).

And the black screen after returning to the FF7 when it's still supposed to be playing the FMV is perfectly normal. It's because of how the code is written - if it encounters a problem when playing the FMV it stops the playback and won't turn the lights on - you have to do it manually. This can be fixed only by modifying the ff7.exe to handle such an event, and no such fix exists IIRC.

Ah I see.

I thought so too that it was normal about my FMV problem, just wanna make sure.

But nah, it doesn't really bugs me that much so it's alright.

Has anyone gave up on the music? I did everything correctly and my music  just doesn't read in FF7Music. Was thinking of putting some nice mp3's.

Someone please help!

are u playing on vista? i had to install the GyptInstant patch on my vista computer cause i got random black screens, and the ctrl+d function fixed them

Yes, I'm playing on 64-bit Ultimate. Weird I never have that kind of black screen problem. The problem that I mean here is that the movies wont show anymore and it was because of the codec mistake. Ctrl+d... isn't that the white screen? Didn't work for me when I used the GyptInstant, not sure why.

However I do have a different black screen problem that I've noticed since the beginning though, whenever there's an FMV and I press the Windows button (to check something for example) I will get a black screen automatically when I go back. So yeah I can't press it during an FMV because of it, however if I press it during playing it's ok.

I never really had a lot of problems except my FMV crash and also the Ficedula music...

21
P.S. I forgot to take out the save folder while uninstalling (uninstalled many times), now I'm back from the beginning.  :-(

Create back ups everytime.. =) Remember it (for the next time).

Haha thats exactly what I have in mind. xD

But to be honest I don't mind. I miss Aerith so much... Main reason why I love this game.

22
To be clear, any YAMP patch is gone the moment you delete the ff7.exe. And you should knew it was gone, because you had to install it one more time to use the Ctrl+S shortcut on those not working FMVs when you realized that the reinstall didn't help.

Well I know that it was gone, I just thought that they were one of those files that leaves some traces after uninstalling because it has this similar black screen thing.  :|

23
Nvm I finally got it.

The problem was the codec. It seems the GyptInstant isn't good when it comes to different kinds of codecs. I installed the Truemotion 2.0 (took out the one that was default) again and it worked. Glad I don't have to reformat, whew.

Thanks for reminding me about the codec, forgot to double check it.  :-)

24
I don't remember GyptInstant automatically skipping FMVs...
Do you have the proper codec installed?

Yes. I even manually installed the Truemotion 2.0 codec (and later uninstalled because it didn't changed anything) but didn't work. It's still the same.  :|

The only thing I can say is that since I installed this GyptInstant, whenever there's an FMV it goes black and I have to press ctrl+s (skip) everytime. There's no other choice because it will stay black if I don't skip it anyway, it happens in every FMV's. The game would be very fast after skipping the FMV, (fps in GyptInstant config I think) but my main concern now is to uninstall this thing. Man I'm thinking of just reformatting my comp. There seems to be some file in Windows but I don't know what it is. Dammit.

This problem is worse than before. If I knew I wouldn't have downloaded it...

25
Wow...

I had to install this one file (GryptInstant) that came with the YAMP patch due to my biglight amv crash problem and now that I've skipped that movie, I had to uninstall it because it automatically skips all AMV's and it gives me a black screen. Now I tried deleting the file and it didn't work. I tried to reinstall my whole FFVII and it's still the same thing (Skips EIDIOS logo and stays black screen whenever theres an AMV. I can't even go to new game anymore because the screen goes black. It seems that the GryptInstant is still there but I already uninstalled my whole FFVII, what in the world?

dziugo wth is wrong why can't I uninstall this?

Please help.
Before you patch the executive file, you should have made a backup file(though in most case, patcher does make one).  If there's ff7.exe.backup, delete patched file and rename backup file.  If not, extract 1.02 patch again(you don't need to uninstall and re-install whole game).  And.. also delete YAMP and associated patches and try.

I did try that before but I had lots of problems using backup files and other patches working, so I decided that I'll just uninstall and reinstall everything (much cleaner IMO) whenever I have problems.

The only thing that bugs me is that I already uninstalled the whole thing (FFVII game) and applied a fresh new unpatched Official 1.02 after the reinstallation and that GyptInstant is still there although I don't have it anymore. I  reinstalled in again only using both Official 1.02 and Saint's high res patch but no luck as well.

This sucks...  :-(
