Wow, what a great project! Took me a while to install everything correctly but well worth it. Only one question, where do I get the death Penalty?

Alright, I guess I will see what I can do it just seems rather difficult I almost feel like selling this thing and getting a new one would be easier haha. So just to make things clear even if I try to upgrade the ram to 8GB instead of 4 and put in the core i7 my computer won't show much difference for the money spent to do so?

Wow that is amazing. I wonder if I could put in the type of graphics card that you have. Also you have just reminded me that overclocking is an option. Would it be difficult or dangerous to overclock the Nvidia GTS 360m that I have? or even my cpu for that matter? Because honestly I have no knowledge of even how to do it and I rather not break my computer lol. Thanks for everyones help and quick responses by the way.

Would any of you know if there is even a graphics card that I can replace it with? I tried doing some research on my own and I saw something called GTX 480M. I believe that's better but I have no idea if it will fit or if its even possible at all.

@ Kudistos Megistos
I know gaming on a laptop is just not the way to go but unfortunately I do not have much of a choice because I will be at school and all I have is this laptop.

@ sl1982
Have you tried the benchmark with the G73jh? I'm curious to see how well it does

Haha I totally would if I could return my laptop but its to late now. I am really happy with the G60jx though FF14 is just insane. You think I could put a core i7 like the one you have in yours in the G60jx?

I was wondering if anyone was a fan of the new final fantasy coming out it looks really good. I was planning on playing it on my laptop but after seeing how high end graphics this game is I don't even know if I will be able to play it =(. Here is the benchmark in case anyone wants to see how well they can run the game.  http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/media/benchmark/na/  I only scored a 1903 on my Asus G60jx so I'm not to sure what to do yet. I was thinking about posting pictures of the inside of my laptop to see if anyone would be able to help me change my processor to a core i7 build so if anyone has experience with that could you please let me know =).  Sorry for just saying random things but this thread is here basically just to talk about Final Fantasy 14 and to possibly help me out so I could actually play it lol.

@ Timu
I really like that model of the buster sword. Could you possibly release it so I can use that one instead of Millenia's? I also feel just like Tsetra does and believe the buster sword really is important for right now.  Who knows maybe if Millenia doesn't wanna texture it I will give it a try but I don't really have much experience though I'm willing to learn.

To be honest all the resources you need are right here. I would go on page one and read kranmers first post. Make sure you have all the necessary requirements he listed before installing his patch.  Once you meet those requirements install his patch and check in game you should have a transparent battle interface. Then if you keep looking on these pages you will see that kranmer added many updates to his patch such as no hp bars,no eye opener etc. Install those to you liking and you should be fine. The only other thing I did was download Armorvils edit of the TA Menuart which is also found on a page in this topic.

I actually just tried delete some things and by trial and error I got it but thanks a lot. One thing I still can't seem to do though is make the "attack box" transparent. I enabled the make all dialog boxes transparent in the driver options but I can't seem to get that box to work.

This project is really amazing I just really wish I could get it to work correctly. I installed armorvils menuart and all of kranmers  updates to the new battle interface but I keep getting this. I want to know if there is something I have to do to change  the boxes around limits and time or if I installed something incorrectly.  I looked in the textures folder but there is a lot of boxes I'm not sure which ones to edit.

I'm sorry but I really don't know what the construction sheet is. I found those images in the textures folder once but they all look green like the ones you showed me. I only want to change the yellow casting thing but if you are telling me all those green things in seffect much be changed I will give it a shot.

This is just a thought but would it be possible to put all these modifications on the psp version of Final Fantasy 7? I was assuming it would work because we don't have to worry about space because its not on a disk. By the way by all these modifications I pretty much mean any modification. I just think it would be so awesome to play an updated version on my psp because the original looks very nice on it.

Thanks for your help but now I can't seem to find a program that will open those files. I tried img2tex but that keeps giving me error 9. Any ideas?

I was trying to locate the texture for the "casting" texture but I can't seem to find it. The limit texture is easily found in the Final Fantasy VII folder but I can't seem to find the yellow casting one. Also when I find it I was wondering if it would be possible to make the magic casting texture a different texture then the summon casting one. I do recall the summoning one having other things in it but I believe it did use the same yellow texture. If anyone can help me locate either of these or know If what I stated before is even possible I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Hey thanks for the quick reply buddy. I kind of understand what you are saying I just have no experience in modeling or u/v mapping at all but that's ok I will try to learn on my own. I just got 3dsmax and I'm learning  the basics but I am much more interested in texturing the old weapons.

I was planning on learning how to texture and I decided to use Biturn to convert yuffies weapon Conformer to .3ds format. I was able to bring it into photo shop to add cool textures to it  but before I went crazy with it I wanted to make sure I get get it back into the game but I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get it back into the game. Unless I'm doing something wrong I believe I can only save it from photoshop as .obj and I dont know a way of getting that format back to the original.

23
I don't have the 3dsmax compatible format I didn't create the model. I just used img2tex to open up Millenias textures and then changed it up a bit.

Attempt 2!!  sorry to bother everyone I'm just having a lot of fun with this
