In the Off-Topic section, can we get a Tech support forum? Many people are having tech problems that aren't directly FF related. I really think this would be a good idea. If you need a mod for it, I'll donate my services, as I have for the On-Topic Tech Support forum.

But I really think we should have an Off-Topic Tech Support froum.

Shouldn't they go to a proper tech support forum in that case... or can't the Spam forum surfice for any tech questions. I don't think we need any more forums on the board.

Agreed, we don't need more forums. Either Tech Related is allowed for general computer problems (in which case, no problem) .... or we use Spam for it. We don't need extra forums ... there's no real problem ATM.

Can anyone give me a good reason why I would give up a substantial amount of bandwidth to provide free tech support, especially off-topic such? Such topics simply do not belong on this board, I've been nice enough to create a Spam forum, for the one reason that *someone* might actually be interested in bogus topics.

Oh, and btw... in the new forums, topics in the Spam forum will be automatically purged after a month or so, to prevent unnecessary stress on the server.

Do not overuse l33t. Fice's quote was cool for humoristic value, but entire posts? L33t can be fun from time to time, but don't fall victim to it's evil powers, lest it will control you and haunt you for all eternity. And your friends, family, your pet, and those little things living in your fridge without your knowledge. And...and... hmm, maybe I shouldn't be talking so much with all these medicines in effect...

Okay, this is both confusing me and making me laugh at the same time. The only thing I don't understand is:

What is "l33t"? Let's see....the "3" is used instead of what? "e"? So that would make "l33t" mean "leet".

If I'm right, then what the heck is "leet"?!

leet is the embodyment of all thoes people with to much time and a computer. frankly i only use leet when i looks cool or is funny. just to you show you what it looks ike for yuo goku i'll show you the appearence difference:

If this continues this topic will eventually end up in the spam forum, but since the mods and admins are doing it, I don't think so...

Mods/Admins: Why not make a section near the reply box of what not to post in threads? That will most probally make your lives easier...

Hey, Joey's got a good idea, unless the do's and don't's of posting are listed somewhere else. I think it'd be worth considering.

I do have one good suggestion: When you have pages of posts, instead of it saying "1, 2, 3 ... 6" for example, can we have it say "1, 2 ... 5, 6".

That kind of thing has been annoying me, especially when I go to read the "Name the Game" posts in the spam forum.

PS has a good point. Threads don't get long enough to make the "1, 2, 3 ... 6" worth while. Its just not practical here. On other boards (I don't know if any of you go to KTFOT) there are 245 page long topics, and it makes much more sense.

Why do it? Because I think it's a better system. We may not have 6+ threads all the time, but some times we do, and I'd like to visit page 5 without going to page 6 first! That way, and can see what I missed since the new page was added. That "Name the Game" topic is going to page 7 soon, and I want to see what I missed on page 6 before I see page 7!

Is that a good enough reason? -_-

Excellent reason, I agree with Sephiroth 3D. Going to the last page and then having to go to the page before that one can be a waste of time, since some have slow Internet connections. That used to be a problem for me when I had a slower connection, and my solution was to find the fastest way to get to a page.

Yeah I thought of that earlier too, I was getting annoyed with going to pages with one post then having to go back a page. I didn't mention it though, maybe Qhimm will put it in his new design...?
