I have become rather fond of the spaceship from FF8 also known as "Ragnarok" and as such I wonder if anyone have actually produced a 3d-model of this ship, it could be used it in other games perhaps.. if someone have made one, where can I get a copy?

Don't look at me, I don't have one.

I'll admit, it IS a nice space ship, but I will say this: Unless you happen to find someone who is obsessed with the game, almost to the point of insanity, you will most likely find crap models of it, if you find any at all. That's been my experience with fan-made models of FF characters, props, ect.

Personally, I'd still like to have the FF7 movie models that were posted on the internet a long time ago...

Hehe... 3d models ... my speciality ...

Well, it would be no problem if you wanted FF7 models ... but ... ehm ... FF8 doesn't look that well. Most of us hackers are mainly workin' on FF7, me for example, I am workin' on the FF7 models. And we can decode these 'quite well'. But almost nobody has ever tried to hack that FF8 model format (Qhimm, have you?). However, until we don't start doing this, we won't be able to rip any models out of the game...

dragoness: no offence; but as ffs go ff8 was like the worst one. it also hasn't been ported to the pc, lowering the fan base even more, and doing so would just be a pain in the ass. so your chances of finding weapon/ship remakes are basicly null. but any way i hope you find what your looking for   although i doubt your going too..... sorry be so negative, so , um , don't shoot the messenger an so on.

I think PurpleSmurf's right. A lot (or most) of our tools are based on Qhimm's editors and, not to forget, his FF7 .p File - 3DS Max - Plugin. And AFAIK he hasn't figured out the FF8 model format, so the chance that you will find and hack them is ... 'bout zero...
But if you want, you can try it. Probably you will be a good help for us in future....

fice is right !
I just wanted to say that i think that my bro' here was playing ff8 for some time, ( and we have only pc's in the house  :)  )
But ... i never looked at ff8 like programmer ... maybe ... when ill find some time ... that means .... i don't know when.

To the all FileFormaHackers: is it somehow decrypted, or what is the problem ?

I know that FF8 is not as popular as any of the others, but the spaceship Ragnarok is an exception, it is one of the better vehicles I have ever seen, must be because I am a Dragon fanatic ;) in either case, thanks for your help I'll begin creating it once I get a 3d program. :)

*Sephiroth 3D thinks that making a 3D Theatrical Trailer for Mobile Suit Gundam would look really good as a Demo Reel...*

Eh? Were the original FF7 movie models released on the internet? As in the high-quality ones or the improved in-game ones? How come they're not around now?

Well, I'm not sure. Probably simply nobody has taken a look at those files. I have read in an old topic, that Qhimm was workin' on a FF8 model viewer, which was never released, b'cause the models were shown screwed up. However, after I have talked to Qhimm and some others, this proggy seems to be just a rumour .... :-?

They were the full models used in the FMV. Those models were on the internet for a few months, but dissapeared shortly before I started looking for them. What's worse is that my friend saw them, but didn't download them. He never found them again.

this was taken directly from the Morpheus home page "www.musiccity.com... so are they really going?

{Several stories have been printed, leading with a story that was printed in the BBC Online, reporting a security leak in Morpheus. The report is not true - The report of a security hole in Morpheus is FALSE.

THIS REPORT IS FALSE

·   The report was allegedly made by an “anonymous” security consultant. Neither this consultant nor any others have contacted StreamCast directly to report a breach in security.

·   Several false postings have been made on behalf of StreamCast and Morpheus. One was reported by a source named Paul Sarsfield, who claimed to be a “Morpheus” employee. StreamCast does not employ any person by that name, nor have any StreamCast employees or company representatives posted any responses to this matter.

·   There has never been a security breach in Morpheus since its introduction in April 2001.}

Well, okay, they files should be up then. I'm sure they are. It is just a matter of time and patience to find something on the net.
Fact is: You can find almost *everything* on the internet ... you just have to search... probably very long?

BTW: Possibly I'll be able to test our School-DSL connection tomorrow :naughty:

That statement was made just to assure people that using Morpheus is safe.  I don't know how long it will stay around, but as soon as the spotlight is pointed directly at them, it won't be around for long.
