Model Index / How to tell which file is what

Hi Guys,
I'm keen on doing some remodeling - however I'm having a hard time working out what p file is what in-game model etc.
Is there a library or index to help with this?

The file reconstruction project may cover your needs, its under development but there is currently a lot of info put in there.
