I love the final fantasy game and enjoyed many of the mods and playing with some of the easier to use editors on here, however I really want to get stuck it on the programming mods/hex editing but I really don't know where to start. Any advice would be great but please remember I'm a complete newbie so I need it broken down for me,, where did some of you start and what easy to read/understand sources can you point me to. I'm a quick learner once I understand something, but to understand you need to be shown in a way that is clear and well explained. Can anyone point me to some easy to read material and/or youtube videos really explaining either hex editing or mod creation on final fantasy 7. Thank you.

Ps I have messed about with making basic trainers for games in the past but nothing on a ff7 level.

This topic doesn't belong in Tech Support, but okay.

In the Tech Support forum, you'll see that there are two stickied threads.  One of them is "an up-to-date guide for newbies playing FF7" or something like that.  The first post in that thread links you to various editors that you can use to tweak your Final Fantasy 7 game.  It also gives you information on what existing mods you should use, which ones you shouldn't use, which programs are now obsolete, etc.  'Tis all very useful, I'm sure you will agree.

If you mean 'involved' as in "develop stuff" then you need to get comfortable with the tools first. Wallmarket, Loveless, MakoReactor, Kimera, and so on. Probably ProudClod too.
