Final Fantasy VII movies dont show(can hear them) game wont play

Ive had a plentitude of problems but right now i think im on the cusp of playability.  When i play the game I hear sounds but i cant see anything.  When i press enter to skip the opening scene, i go to an odd grey screen then i can select New game because i know how to get there without seeing it and when i here more music then it stops and the game wont close or go further.  Its probably just settings at this point.  Any ideas for me?

is this using aali's driver? if so have you run the new ff7config.exe to and selected custom driver as your driver?

yes ive done both.  It wouldnt even run without it.  Im currently on 7.10.  Also if i let the black screen stay, the character models show up in the blackness but there is no background and the models arent fully rendered.  Also if i go into battles.  Nothing is listed underneath but i can fight enemies who are clearly visible but cloud is not visible

already done.  im going to try and reistall the game and see what happens
