The Great Thread of Avatarness
« on: 2011-02-17 23:45:58 »
This thread has a simple purpose: a thread to discuss avatars.

Remember, no quoting images.

I was thinking of switching to the following, using an image rotator:

Obviously, they'll need to be resized and cleaned up a little, but thoughts?

I was also considering a simple rotation of monochrome hazard signs, a bit like I have already, just levelled up.

ABES ODDYSEE LOL THATS A FUNNY NAME WHICH GROUPS SUB IT? IS IT ON CRUNCHYROLL?

Yes, as a loyal PSXfag, I'm well aware of Abe, although I never really took to those games

What I worry about is that the avatars are very dark; although that colour scheme works in Abe's world, I fear that the avatars would look like a big dark green/brown mess on these forums. The forum has quite a "clean" colour scheme and style, so I, personally, wouldn't use avatars like that.

Hmm. Good point. And I don't think they'd shrink well.

Perhaps I should extend my current set? The issue is that most other hazard signs look a bit 'fussy'.

Then only use the ones that don't look too fussy.

Or you could get some Ika Musume avatars? Or Ichigo Mashimaro? They'd look cute on you!

Oooh, it looks good!

It needs just a little bit more before the set is perfect...

current avatar ( almost everywhere ) but been thinking of switching to another one

either this
or

this

both have to be that size to work everywhere I use an avatar ( dozens of forums, blogs, profiles, etc... )

All those avatars are too large to be used here. Maximum 100px x 100px.

I think mine's intimidating. If you know where it comes from, of course. ;)

I am not using an avatar HERE for a reason. Because every other place I visit allows 150x150 and i'm not gonna shrink them. it'll look shitty.

The invincible eye is easily recognizeable if you played ff9. I mean, its a huge plot point. multiple times.

I'm not even going to ask how you found that out.

Just remember that even if her body looks like its ready, her mind might not be.

Well, actually I stole it from her fathers boxing ball which was hanging in a cellar with a pinball-machine-elevator.... :-)
She gave me a nice flower though...  8)

wrong. Final Fantasy 9 flashback, the 'eye' of the invincible looking down on Madain Sari and destroying it.
well, there are other instances of the 'eye' of the invincible showing up but thats the most memorable.
