Hey guys, ive seen these wonderfull ways to improve ff7, but it seems im not good at doing it.

I have hp laptop with 3.2 ghz processor, 512 Ram, and ATI mobility radeon 9000 IGP  chipset.

After installing ff7, using 1.02 patch, installing "ff7_opengl-0.7.11b" (and a laptop keyboard patch) i never seem to get the game to work fully. If i were to pick 1200X800 or less i wont play the intro movies and will get me into unmodified start meniu (with new    game and continoue options). I have tried using team avalanche's graphic overhaul low res and then the while starting the game,  a message poped out, saying "no useful indirect path found. check APP for more information". I did check it and check it and thats what was written in it:

So my question would be, is there a posibility to improve ff7's graphics on my pc, and if yes, how could i do it?

Those onboard graphics are very outdated. Since they will not do any scaling whatsover you may have to run the game in 640x480. You could try 1280x960 and see if that works, but i doubt it.

Yeah, but i was wondering if it was possible to apply at least some mods to improve the visuals of the game, while on the pc with the stats i mentioned before

Okay, so ive reinstalled the game, then i used:
1. 1.02 official patch
2. aali's custom driver
3. laptop keyboard patch

Now, every time i start from my save(first possible location :) ) whenever i try to make progress in the game or enter the meniu, the view hangs and music seems to slow down about 20 times, but still plays. I cannot do anything in that state, including alt+ctrl+delete or any combos to exit that state, and have to restart the pc (my laptop has windows xp btw).
So can anyone tell me where the problem hides, and HOW could i solve it?

That's an old onboard? on my PC I'm running an ATI Radeon 1200 and it runs "Avalanche low res" just fine, Not sure how relevant this information is seeing as it's not an onboard but well there's my 2 cents, hope it helps... But it probably wont. =P

I've not heard anything about the music hanging.. but maybe some of the music files are corrupt..? Or something like that, you might try installing ff7 music and seeing if that helps at all.

Stupid question but have you tried fiddling around with the graphic settings in aali driver? or changing the audio settings?
