FFVIII File extractor?
« on: 2012-01-16 21:52:16 »
I've been trying to rip the model files from the PSX version of FFVIII for some time.  I know Noesis can rip them, but I can't actually get at the model files, because even if I use IsoBuster, there's a compressed .img file inside the ISO, and I don't know how to extract the files from there.

Every time I search the 'net for a solution, I eventually fetch up on a deceased thread on this forum, regarding a file extractor written for that purpose, but all the links to the extractor are no longer functional.

Therefore, I thought this seemed the most likely place to ask if that extractor--or another one like it--is still available, and where I might find it.  I do apologize if this was the wrong forum to post this question in, but since it's the one where the original thread was, I thought it seemed the logical place.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.

I can maybe try to make one, but I'll take some time, the files do not have names and are not all listed in one place... I did some tests on disk 1 of my (french) game, all the known list is here:

Never mind, this post--http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=12778.0--had a link to a .zip that had all the model files in it.

That was amazingly convenient. :)
