As we all know, Paypal and Ebay are owned by same company and are a rip off.  However, paypal also has one other surprise for sellers because people have found ways to scam unsuspecting victims, and paypal don't seem to care.

This video is from someone who thwarted one such scammer.  I find his narration hilarious, especially 2:09.  Enjoy.

Wait, what? The vast majority of Paypal transactions are completely legitimate. The company itself isn't always great at responding to seller complaints, mainly as a result of past consumer complaints about dishonest sellers. But the company itself is completely honest.

I mean rip off as in the fact ebay prices are way too high and it is deliberately done to mask how much you lose.  First you have the listing price, then ebay final price then paypal charges.

It is annoying and it is a rip off.  Especially since they bumped their prices up.

Paypal is far from honest, they have locked down legitimate accounts for absolutely no reason, for up to 6 months and the sheer number of people they have done it to is staggering (tons of stories of what they have done, including at least 3 dedicated anti paypal sites).  I won't be using them again thats for sure.  8)

I guess if they work for you good, but having dealt with them, they don't work for me.

My biggest issue with Ebay's fees is that it's actually quite hard to tell when you're supposed to pay them, how to pay them and whether you've done it yet. I sold quite a few things recently and had to chase *them* up for an invoice, only to discover the costs had automatically been docked from my Paypal account.

Here in the Netherlands we have an online payment system called iDeal. Which is quite... Ideal to say the least. It's like an online ATM, you just log on with your bank account and you pay it directly! There's usually no transaction fee but when there is it's 1€ max! :)

They should have this installed globally!  :mrgreen:

i no longer sell on ebay to many people trying to rip you off i dont mind using paypal to buy as that doesnt cost anything but its all a load of s**t anyway and now i only buy from japan may take a while to get where i am but its alot cheaper and ive never had a problem with a transaction
