Petes Plugins just got up to 1.50 go get them if you havent already and try (in the readme) the settings he uses for his voodoo card.. it may help.. its probably your video plugin.. try putting it in a lower res it says it in the read me what settings he recommends ... That would be the way i'd go...

Are you using ISO?

Get a copy of CRrwin and make Iso's of your disks. it only works with CDRwin.

ISO buster works as well, you have to write click the disk and select raw format then you get the ISO, in fact that was the only one that would work on my pc(clone cd wouldnt - something to do with my VIA chipset)

Via says that they fix the problem...or are currently fixing. check you Motherboard website for a Bios fix for the fix.

Its fixed now, it just wasn't then. Via don't seem to be very compatible with a lot of stuff. I had to install lots of different drivers just to get the graphics card to work.

I have problems with EPSXE too, but mine are with savedgames.  For some odd reason, (only recently has this started to happen)  I can save the games in the game, but when I shut down the program, and open up FFIX again, the sones I saved aren't there!  Can someone help me with this?

I should probably contact the coders for the following problem:  The savestates usually don't load, I just get an "epsxe caused an error in .

And BTW, with PEC,  does anyone know what hex code to input to change the level of the creatures I battle?  I'll reiterate:  In the FFIX US cheats column, under battle cheats, there is 'enemy1', 'enemy2', and 'enemy3'.  Under each of these is a 'level modifier' code.  using PEC v1.4,  I can double click on that cheat and a $00  will come up.  I think thats the hex, I can switch to decimal though.  Anyway, does anyone know the appropriate codes to put into the hex/decimal fields to change the level?  If you give me a gameshark code, be sure to tell me how to use it!  I  would surprise you,  because i'm incredibly stupid when it comes to programming jargon. :)

Thanks!

MMiller...that is a fail safe thing that the programers put in. Also, if you don't use save states, you'll never have that problem.

Look in you memorycard directory and rename the temp files you see there into your originals. There is an explanation of why they did this in that long, readme file. Can't remember why, though.

The Pal question is also in the readme file....the Pal version of FF9 seems to only work with non English versions with a hacked file. No one has made a hack for the UK version yet, so it can't be emulated. Just read the readme file. I'm going by memory. And Pal wasn't my biggest concern when I was reading it.

Threesixty, for that wonderful tidbit of EFFECTIVE info, I award you the POP CULTURE ICON award, effective for one week after this was posted.  This award gives you:
1. Bragging Rights.
2.....
Yep, thats about it.  Thank you for helping me.

BTW, for those of you who have read my other post that concerns somewhat the title of Pop Culture Icon,  you may rest assured that Scott is locked safely away somewhere, being treated for his unhealthy addiction to Black and White.*  Upon him being declared insane, his title was revoked.  Hopefully, when he gets out of the... 'rehab', he will have forgotten this award, and will not go after the current holder's throat.

* Yes, they use cattle prods, barbed wire, and this horrible thing with a coat and a cheesegrater.

All due respect to Terry Pratchett.

Discworlds, pretty much only the ones with Rincewind or one or more of the Wyrd sisters.
Some of the others can be pretty boring.  I'm rereading Sourcery right now.

Hey Sourcery is brillint!
The City Watch books are the best. The other rule as well but the City Watch ones take the cup. And the Truth is good as well. So is Small Gods, pyramids and Hog Father. Read them at one point to.

I agree with you  when you say Small Gods was good.  I loved it, but I think it kinda deviates from Terry Pratchett's traditional 'strict comedy' form.  It's a great book, but seems to be more serious than others.
No offense, but I really don't like the city watch books.  Maybe when I get older I can appreciate the humor of Carrot.  This has happened before with me-  I wanted to read Rendezvous with RAMA because I had bought the Sierra adventure game based on Rama II.  I found it incredibly boring.  however, last year, I tried again, and now the Rama series is one of my favorite serieses. (<-I didn't know exactly how to put that, but I DO know that serieses isn't a word!)
Anyway, in my book, Rincewind rules.  I graduated from 8th grade a couple of days ago, and my mom got me a copy of Discworld II for the PC over Ebay.  It should be here any day now, and i'm very excited!!!  I was even thinking about changing my name to 'The Luggage' last week.
On a scarier note, Conina the Barbarian is about to cut my hair, and I need to stop typing.  The vibration may cause here to cut something of more value off of my head.
Bye. :o

I have wanted this game for a long time.  Is Dicworld I any good?

ALSO:  I have a tech problem with Discworld NOIR.  When my charachter and that wierd lady i'm working for are about to kiss (the movie where they kiss in the mansion after I quizz her in the casino)  I get a lockup when my charachter is talking about kissing your parents.  It goes black, and then I get one of those errors with the cancel and Advanced options.  Anyone know how to fix this?
Probably not.  Anyway, I would give you more info, but I took the game off and forgot the exact error message.  It's too bad, too, because the game was just starting to get interesting. :(
On an even sadder note, :(, I have to get up and go to a four hour long typing class for a month.  I'm doing it so I can get 'ahead' of my classes at my High School. (I'll be a freshman...  :()  I've gone to it twice now.  My arm hurts, and I think i'm getting a B. :(
At least I can still type smiley-faces. :)!!!
Heh... I guess I had 'too many images' in my last post.  I removed some of them, and found out that I can't post within sixty seconds of my last post.  I realise I could sit here and insult the rule, or the creators of the rule, but I also realise that there are probably a few technical restrictions that make the presance of that rule required.  I'd rather wallow in ignorance.  I hate it when web sites force insight onto me.

By the way, i'm kidding in that last part.  The sixty seconds are probably up now. :D

Umm, I just finished sourcery again, and i'm a bit confused (and disturbed).  Did Rincewind die in the Dungeon Dimensions, or do they imply that he will be back when they say that 'a wizard alwayse comes back for his hat.'?

You have to read "Erik" to find out what happens to RinceWind. If you cant find that book or dont want to read it I will just say he comes back and in a very amuseing way  :)
