As the title said, I have spent hours to fix this issue but no vail. The problem is like this: At the end of this 1 when i take the elevator to exit the train station at Dollet, the game automatically exit to desktop without any message. After a little investigation, i find out it's because the game needs the 2nd disc to continue, but somehow it cant pop up the message to prompt for 2nd disc insert. I try a little trick by inserting the 2nd disc before it switches to scene that asks for 2nd disc. And it works. However, at the next scene when i take the elevator upstair to exit train station, the whole screen is just black out, however, the sound, the music is still playing in background. i wonder is there any problem with the way i do to overcome this issue by putting the 2nd disc before im asked for. But without doing that, i found no way to play when it keeps exiting to desktop.

My system:

Window XP -SP 3
Video card: NVidia Geforce 9400M
Version: 6.14.11.9621

I have installed patch 1.2 FF8SqeaNVPatch.zip and even use the launcher  ff8_launcher_v1.31.zip, but none works. And there are no error in the app.log. I try to use aali's driver but dont know how to install it.

Anyone knows how to solve this? Thanks ahead

With Aail's driver you just dunk it in the main FF8 folder with the .exe, should then work automatically but you'd need to open the ff8 config .cfg with a text editor like notepad/wordpad to change the resolution and other settings.

I already try what you say. i extract all files in ff7_opengl.0.7.11b.zip and edit file ff8_opengl.cfg. try to run and the game still exit to desktop. Here is the app.log.
