Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and close this thread. It's just a teensy bit too similar to another thread that ended in a TON of drama a few years back. I may add to this post at some point with my own thoughts on the matter, or I may not, but laughing at our less rule-following members has historically proven to be a bad idea.
edit: Actually, I am gonna go ahead and explain this. He's not moderated, he's banned. Here's why:
And then he got gagged/muted despite several warnings not to double post or bump mummified threads, so he created a new account then bitched about the rules when he got busted for it.
I really didn't want to keep raising his warn level, because he was generally harmless and as polite as he knew how to be. Heck, the biggest reason we have a warn system in place is so that if a user does something wrong, they can see what it was and learn from it, rather than going straight from zero to ban in under six seconds. Far worse than his rulebreaking was his adamant refusal to learn from it, and to make a legitimate attempt to read and understand the rules. But even that wouldn't have been too bad, if he'd just waited a few days for his warn level to go back down. But then, to have known that it would go back down 1% per day, he would've needed to read the rules. But it was creating a dupe account that got him banned. Ban evasion is pretty much the biggest
