That lets me export ff7 3d models into a format which 3dsmax or a similar 3d app can read? I tried leviathan, and it just shows the models, no way i can rotate camera, or export the model. Ive tried several, but havent come across one yet. Help would be appreciated, i wanna show the remake squad what i can do

Alhexx's P2LWO converter is rather good too. However, no matter how you export it, currently, no one supports out-putting the color info, so you'd have to do that by hand. What a drag, huh?

I've been doing all my work using Ultima itself.  I've been able to get quite a bit done with it, I think.  Then again, I haven't seen anything to compare my work to, either.

I'll upload some of the recent stuff I've done later one.  No one seems too interested in it anyways.

And I'll humbly plug my thread on suggestions for the programs that're out...

Ahh, this topic seems *made* just for me (and Fice...)

Well, if you want to export the FF7 models, you first need to get then out of the LGP Archives. You should use LGPTools by Ficedula ( http://ficedula.cjb.net ). Then, once you have exported them, you can use Ultima to load the models and export it to LWO or Milkshape RAW format. You can also get an Importer PlugIn for Milkshape 3D from my page:

http://www.alhexx.com

Oh, if you don't have Milkshape:
http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/

BTW, yes Ultima is written in VB6

Ah yes, we're fortunate to have clever-sighted people like eddy here. He saw right through the bluff! The huge "AIM" button below every post of Shinra's is, in fact, useless compared to posting him to ask for it.

Bad mood today, exams starting. :(

I'm very sorry, but my sources aren't "public domain" (or at least most of them) ... you will have to work with the compiled version or get some descriptions 'bout the formats and program a converter yourself.
That's the way I did it...

To the Leviathan - I was thinking about export option, but then somebody noticed that it is illegal. But surely there are ways, just search harder.

...Then again, anything short of leaving the unopened box sitting on a shelf to collect dust can be construed as illegal if someone hires a Lawyer that'll spend enough time finding an excuse.

God bless the USA.  -.-

Don't mind me.  Someone painted the curb next to my car last night, and ticketed me for it.  Thus;  >:[email protected]

*Wonders if he could add color export/conversion info for the P2LWO plugin...*

*Then wonders if he would know how to do it.*

*Then he gives up, and decided to ask Alhexx to add it when he gets back from Spain.*

Some LW6+ support would also be nice... I DID send you the LW source code, right?

Sephiroth3D: i really think that conv can export model from P to LWO with colours. Try it.

And please Seph, could you tell me if there is some file format, which can be saved with vertex colours ? (except P format). Thank you in advance.

Ok, you want to know one? Fine. Lightwave 6+ objects can save vertex colors to what it calls a "vertex map". I think I emailed you the code when I emailed it to Alhexx. I could send it again if you need it...

And when I say colors, I'm talking vertex colors, not flat colors. I know yours can do that now. (Except that it puts the diffuse for every surface at 0% when it should be 100%.)

Yes, you've mailed it to me. However, I haven't been able to create a useful exporter or converter yet :(
