A real life modder (merchandiser)!
« on: 2012-05-11 13:08:20 »
For ff merchandise and the real Squall ring http://devyatkinffshop.ru/. I have bought the first nice quality ring ever released since it was a request. Well I lost it and then he made me a second one of better quality. My next request was this fairy dolphin for mother's day ;). Great communication (in English) guys.

Fan-made replica sales have been shut down by Square-Enix in the past (swords, jackets, etc). They don't generally mind cosplay, but when you're selling it for a profit they start to have a problem with it. I'm guessing this guy hasn't properly licensed this, and will not stay under their radar forever.

Then again, he's in Russia, so I dunno how much they can actually do about it.

he's in Russia...

Ukraine... well I asked him about it and he believes he's too meaningless for them as he said. Dunno much further but he was very patient with my requests and is doing it as a hobby. I don't think I wouldn't buy the griever ring by Square online shop if they were producing the original design and not all those crappy replicas...

I do not have the means to buy replicas, yet I find it sad that Square-Enix would do such a thing. I was looking at images on their Flickr account...

... and they clearly do not mind the weapons the cosplay-ers are holding.
