Well, it turned out to be a bit more involved than I first thought, but since there was such a demand for it....

I'll probably fix it up some more tomorrow.

I hate to ruin your good run Shinra, but I'm not impressed. I applaud your HRC work, as it's some good (if not wierd) stuff.

But I draw the line at FF fan service. That's the last thing the series needs.

I have time to kill, and that's been the only (albiet rhetorical) request I've gotten.  :\

Maybe this will cheer you up?

also, reformatted your current icon as a gif.  It just doesn't look that great against a black background, but I *could* fix that if it was really wanted.

Now that Seph anim is good. Don't bother with the gif file. The PNG does exactly what I want it to do, and I won't have to worry about diff backgrounds. Qhimm could make it swirling colors, but if you have a 32-bit PNG brower (like NS6) it would work perfectly.

I see what Seph3D means.

<- PNG, as viewed in Internet Explorer 6.

<- PNG, as viewed in Netscape 6.

If you take the Netscape 6 one and zoom in real close, you can see how it does the transparent kinda thing on the background around the edges - the image will look good no matter what color background it is on.

This isn't enough to make me switch to Netscape, though :-p

[Edit] Whoops, forgot the second "!" in the path to my images...

IE 5.5

I tried upgrading to 6.0 a while back, but downgraded again in a vain attempt to get some better performance from ye olde cinderblock.  Ah, well.

At least Shawn Applegate can entertain us.

...It's Hammer time?

la~

Before a certain lovable moderator voices his disdain of Fan Service, the reason I put that one together was to see if I could arrange Tifa's normally three-bone head to work with Scarlet's one-bone head animations  I ended up translating the Hair.p to mount off the same bone as the head.p, similar to cloud's sword / hand.

The downside is, when you use the Kyahahaha animation...her hair tilts back, too, and ends up sticking halfway out in front of her legs.  -.-

Ah, well.

That FF7 remake that had been going on since forever, did it ever happen?

^.^; cool.

By the by, I had an idea...Would it be possible to somehow modify the FF7 game code to render the backgrounds in software? What I'm thinking is, to fix up the blockiness of the backgrounds you could simply have it drawn with a SuperEagle filter applied to it. Boom, no more texel problems, no more blocky. Combined with the Cetra 32-bit patch I thought it would look nice...I figured it would be a good idea to ask you coding-types to see if it was plausible ^^

Problem is, when there's two different backgrounds on top of each other (one "foreground" actually) and a character steps along the line.  Might now look great if they're filtered.  Dunno how SuperEagle would handle that though...

Here's another problem: The FF remake engine will NOT run FF7.

I think it's stupid, so complain to Fice if you want it changed. I doubt he'll change that. Both Fice & Qhimm are adament about it specifically not supporting it, so we won't get in trouble with Squaresoft. It's a valid concern. I don't agree with it, but I can't/won't fight them over such a minor thing.
