Failed installation?
« on: 2012-12-07 11:02:46 »
Hello everybody! I know this is probably a horrible first post, but I recently decided to try to mod, so  following a few tutorials, i managed to download and run bootleg with full, and start up my first modded ff7.

It took a few attempts, but the game looked incredable! Until I noticed a few things were going wrong, and I could not find the source of the problem.

The first thing i noticed was barrett's face appeared to be missing, which while strange and a bit creepy was livable.  But soon enough i noticed a second, much more serious problem.  It appeared that many storyline releated enemies were being switched out with other enemies, the little fire bomb guys.

I tried to do some troubleshooting but couldn't find any problems in my installation.  Should i try a clean install and begin with a minimal installation before adding more?  Or does anyone know anything that might help make it a bit easier to figure out what went wrong?

edit-
i ran a few tests, and found that changing the game mode to one of hte complete overhauls that change enemies such as the hardcore or lost wings ones will fix it, but at the moment I was just hoping to play normal mode, although I will give those mods a play in the future.

Download Proud Clod (look in Tools section), open your scene.bin with it, File > Create Scene.bin > Yes; If another box pops up, hit yes again and your problem with be solved. If not, then this is not the issue.

For the Barret face, I can't really tell. Texture ID error, methinks.

Ill try later today, the issue seems to resolve itself when i select remastered in the bootloader window, except for barrets face which, while regrettable,  does not detract so much from the experience as to make the game unplayable.

I dont even know what Remastered does other than its tooltip, but so far it feels pretty normal.
