final fantasy 7 problem
« on: 2014-03-20 12:00:33 »
I used tifa bootleg and added mods to ff7 and i ran into a problem. When i battle yuffie her weapon is blinking when she attacks no attack animation or damage numbers and when I attack the battle freezes. How do I fix this?

I don't have any log files but I do have a video of what is happening. I am using AC Yuffie (Grimmy) model. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F04Gikp1SOM Yuffie spasms when she attacks and whenever I attack the battle freezes to a halt I cannot run from the battle either.

I think there's a problem with the animation file for Grimmys model. Either copy in the original from a back up you made, or just download another yuffie model and take it's animation file. It's the **DA files, very last in alphabetical order. Yuffie has a few battle models though so make sure to do this for all of them, just in case.

Grimmy's Models are included in Bootleg 040, and the animations were fixed for it. If you downloaded the Grimmy Models separately and manually added them after a Bootleg install, then they will be broken.

Are you sure Alyza? I think I had a simialr issue with a bootleg install. I haven't tested a fix for this yet but I've fixed it on other models before. Try manually installing the *DA files first. You can test it by putting them in the direct\battle folder first before using the lgps. Whiteraven's model is stable, you can use the animations from his if you dont have back up lgps.

Yep, that was one issue I reported immediately with 039 and PitBrat fixed it for 040. Check the change logs: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13212.msg183581#msg183581

I used http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13212.0 tut not sure if it is the same version anyways I got jka Yuffie Link it gave me http://www.mediafire.com/download/j489smmpeswanz6/JKA+Yuffie.7z I am not sure if it was the model that was bad I don't know where the other Yuffie model is but anyways it has two folders battle and field which has tons of data in it. Do I copy battle into battle it shows battle folder in direct\battle as empty. I would have thought some data would be in it.

The direct folders are mostly for testing, anything you put in them will load over top of what's actually installed. The yuffie animation files are:
npda, nqda, nrda, nsda, ntda, nuda. I'm not sure why she has so many models, but those are the files you need, should fix the problem.

Quote
According to the Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Omega[4], in earlier versions of Final Fantasy VII, Yuffie and Wutai as a whole were very different from the finished product. Yuffie was envisioned as a 25-year-old bounty hunter seeking Cloud and Sephiroth, and she in turn had a bounty on her head. Posters showing her stats would be found around the world, and Yuffie's stats, abilities and level would change when the party acquired her depending on which poster was inspected last. She was also intended to be an ex-SOLDIER.

The Wutai subquest would have involved Shinra placing Wutai goods under high taxes, straining their economy. Yuffie would have stolen the party's money to try and help, but the town would reject the funds. A Shinra spy in Wutai, Sera, would have spread pro-Shinra propaganda, and planned to blow up the "Ten Face Mountain" to level Wutai and build a Mako Reactor in the ruins. Cloud and his allies would have to climb the mountain and stop her. Her mother's name would have been Kasumi Kisaragi and she would have died while Yuffie was still young.
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Yuffie_Kisaragi

In theory it would be possible with 7th Heaven to realize this idea.

Wow I had no idea about her possible alternative storyline. That's actually a lot better than what made it into the game. This could be rewritten into the game, but her character would have to be adapted to this too. She comes off too bratty to be ex-SHOULDER and strong enough to collect a bounty on Cloud and Sephiroth. Though the change in Sera's character would be too conflicting with the rest of the storyline.

But the subquest story makes more sense this way. I still have no idea what Wutai will do if they have a huge amount on Materia. Taking over the world with it? Playing funny marble game?

I got it working I figured battle.lgp held the data to the battle models so I had to redo battle.lgp  now Yuffie is blinking and teleporting around the screen. I got her in my party but cannot use her yet.
