I wonder if the creators of Tomb Raider have anything to do with this project? I'm sorry, but that girl (sorry, don't know her name) runs too much like a girl with her arms flailing about while running. Why can't people keep with the original final fantasy formats? I like change, but this seems a little ridiculous!! I'll have to admit it's pretty, but I won't expect anything really great from it.

Oh well, who am I to judge from a stinkin' teaser? If they were to make it for PC, I wouldn't mind playing it..

on a side note: anyone know if the japanese version of FFx-international has english subtitles? id love to hear the orignal jap voices. itd be like watching an anime with subtitles

Is that thing serious? Jump button? I didn't see one bit of turn based action. This game is a waste of Square's time. I'd love to see a FF7 remake, not a sequel, same story, just better graphics and sound. I'd pay money for that, not some japanese Jak and Daxter shoot 'em up with girlies wearing half a dress! And guns?! WTF! If you're gonna have guns do it right like Vincent or gunblades, but handguns? Two of them at the same time? What is it? Tomb Raider?! You know what this is gonna be... Onimusha for FF!
Square is starting to suck, yes they are! FFXI now FFX-2.

Looks like the gameplay is based more off of Kingdom Hearts than previous FF games...

i dunno. i enjoy action games and I like rpgs. It will still have turn-based elements. It just gives more freedom of movement in the world - which makes sense, as it is completely 3d. The guns may be dumb, but I have NEVER played a bad final fantasy, and im sure this one won't disappoint me.

Did the jump button in Xenogears ruin it? Just because they are breaking their own would is no reason to diss them. Yes FF8 had an annoying magic system. Yes FF9s' plot left a lot to be desired. FFX and Kingdom Hearts were, by most accounts, excellent games. I personaly think FFX is, although not as good as FF7 adn Xenogears, well up there. I think that this could be an excellent game, if it has good production values. We can't judge this, or Square's wisdom in doing this until it arrives.

Xenogears..... never played it, didn't think they released it in the UK. If it's that good I might buy it and play it on ePSXe. Can anyone recommend it enough for me too spend ridicu...... Christmas... hmm...

EDIT: Even though the game seems like a waster now, I'll probably end up buying it so I'm stopping my arguement here.

Its USA dub with options for USA/JAP subtitles. It dosent matter any way. Theres virtually no diffrence between the USA/JAP voice acters like there is in most anime. However it does have PAL extras+no slowdown/boarders

Come to think of it. I did notice a differences in font of PAL and NTSC versions. Ok, I've got some screenshots from the opening of the North American version and I'm now going to compare the screen area to my PAL version to see for myself how the heck PAL fits 16:9 yet shows the same screen area. I know it has something to do with screen updates but I just wanna see it for myself =)

I remember FFX International having a Japanese - English switch in the config menu but I don't know if it's refering to the audio track or subtitles. And yeah, I wouldn't mind having it as an option, after all I did watch Ring with Englush subs and it's one of my favourite films of all time. And no, not the pooey remake.

Nope, only the subs can be chosen. All voices are in English.

The only way you're going to get that would be to own 2 versions and rip the files from both editions and burn yourself a new dvd-r after mixing the text data.

Sorta ghey really. They could have put it on a double layered DVD and put Jap or Usa voices. I'd like to play though FFX with Jap voices to.

Saint: So you're syaing there weren't any Jap voices on FFXi? But FFXi was only released in Japan. I'm getting confused. So Square Japan thought they'd sell even more copies by putting on English voices and not Japanese? Well, I guess I can see their point but the ultimate version would be Eng/Jap voices with Eng/Jap subtitles, did Square ever think of that? It's not like it wouldn't fit on the DVD.

Well known fact. Japanse people LOVE english voices. I've heard some crazy stuff along the lines of Japanse people prefer to see some of there anime dubbed in english and subtitled in Japanse! But considering the quality of most Enlish anime dubs I somehow doubt this...

Yes, they only released it so that people in Japan get a chance to "listen" to English voices.
