FF8 PC Missing "Eyes on Me" lyrical version?

so uh
i'm near the end of disc 3, and i still haven't heard the eyes on me song play.  is it missing from the pc version or have i not encountered it yet, or am i just deaf?

Does your computer correctly play audio CDs?

The "Eyes on Me" song is an audio track on disc 3.  Find an audio CD, put it in your computer, and try to play it with the Windows CD player.  Anything?  First thing you want to do if you don't get any sound is check the volume for CD audio in the Windows Volume Control.  If you're still not getting anything, then you may want to enable digital CD playing on your computer.

To do this in Windows 9x:
Go to the Multimedia control panel ("Sound and Multimedia" in Windows ME), go to the CD Audio tab, and select the digital playback here.

To do this in Windows XP:
Go to the Device Manager (System control panel, Hardware tab), find your CD-ROM drive and go to properties.  On the second tab, there is a checkbox for it.

If you don't want to use digital CD playback, then verify that there is an audio cable from the CD-ROM drive to the sound card.

I think it is the audio cable problem... because I've experienced a similar problem before. I had my PC repaired... and those people who repaired it didn't fix the audio cable from my CD-ROM to my sound card...   (I had to do it by myself in the end).

I know this is an old post, but there is another possible explanation for anyone who comes accross this problem. If you have two CD drives, first load up control panel, and open Multimedia. Select the CD Audio tab and see what drive is shown. Try running FFVIII from that drive, if it won't run in that drive, simply change to the other drive on the CD Audio tab and it should run fine.

This happened to me, FFVIII won't run in my CD-RW (F:\), and the CD Audio tab said (F:\), I changed it to (E:\), my normal drive, since that is the only drive the FFVIII recognises the cd in, and Eyes On Me played properly.

Another way to fix it, would be if your audio card has both a digital and analog input, connect one CD-Drive to the analog, and the other to the digital, and then just make sure they volume is up on both before you start playing.
