Love 7th Heaven, amazing to see how far the mods have come since the last time I used it! I've been playing through New Threat and having a blast.
The memory crashes are dissappointing, but made bearable by saving a lot and keeping the "save anywhere" option on. After f***ing up a save by accident, I almost lost a ton of progress. Left we no other option, I renamed an old "crash.ff7" save to "save09.ff7" so it'd just load it up into Slot 10. And boom I restored 90% of my progress! Now I keep a bat file in the save folder that deletes the old "save09.ff7" and renames the "crash.ff7" so that when the game crashes I can just run that quick (I often play via SteamLink, so having a quick option was helpful).
I've yet to have the Emergency Save cause any issues, it's saved my butt more than a few times now. It seems to me like 7th Heaven should have an option to automatically save that "crash.ff7" file as "save09.ff7" instead, so it'd be even easier to get back into the game. Or maybe that's the purview of the game driver, in which case 7thHeaven could look for "crash.ff7" and rename it to "save09.ff7" if it exists.
