[ff 7 windows pc version]

how do i remove ruby weapon's super defense so that i can beat him with physical or magic attacks ?

its really boring hitting him with summon spells over and over again.

if his defense can't be lowered, is there a way to increase my physical and magic power enough so that i can actually cause some decent damage ?

My way of doing it:

Kill two of your characters. Then, go into the Ruby battle. Ruby will dig his two arms into the ground, the 'hands' of which will appear behind you so you cannot escape (this normally happens when two of your characters are dead, it's just you've 'accelerated' the process; it also stops him from doing the Sandwhirl thing which removes your character entirely). His  defense will now be lowered. Use Life2 / Angel Whisper E-Skill (if you've got it) on your dead characters and attack him any way you want.

Knights of the Round and multiple Mimes are an obvious way to finish him off, but it's up to you. :)

you're missing the entire point; i can beat him easily with summons but it's boring.

when i use physical or magic attacks they hit for about 100 hp instead of the thousands that they're supposed to.

my characters are dead and his tentacles are buried in the ground.

when they're not in the ground even kotr will hit for 0 because he's invincible.

on my game he can still do whirlwind even if you're characters were already dead.

how do i remove his super defense ?

Well, er, sorry for breathing.  :o

He's supposed to have good defense. What's the point of having him beat easily with physical attacks of 9999? The only practical way of beating him is with summons.

i'm not trying to insult you.

i'm also not saying that my attacks should hit for 9999.

but kotr is like watching a 5-10 minute movie each time and it hits for 130-260 thousand hp.

beating an enemy with it is wack- like dialup.

Try editing your posts, multiple posts like that close to each other is kind of spamy..
:)

As for other ways of doing it.. I finished off only one of the weapons so far. (which was fun) :)

I've not trashed Ultimate but the one which you wipe out to get into the ancient forest I have.

Diamond was quick and easy.

Ultimate Weapon is the one you kill to get into that forest, isn't it? I've not played it in ages but doesn't the Sister Ray take out Diamond weapon?

Diamond weapon is the one u fight to stop it from getting to midgard and Ultimate weapon is the dude that flies around the world and the last time u finish it, it crashes into the ground wich gives u acces to a forest, if u haven't got a golden chocobo that is.

Ruby is the one in the desert en Emerald is the one under water.

there was an Omega weapon to if i'm not confused with FF8, i might switched omega weapon en diamond weapon for same reason.

WARNING! WARNING! SPOILER ALERT!!!

Ultima: The 'true' weapon from the Japanese game. He attacks Mideel, he is also the one you follow around the map and eventually crash into the Cosmo area, to access the forest.

Sapphire: You don't fight this one at all. The Mako Cannon in Junon takes it out.

Diamond: Raid on Midgar. you fight him.. but he's a piece of cake. The Sister Ray, the Mako Cannon once moved to Midgar, does shoot him. This is when the bubble on Crater goes down, and Rufus is killed.

Ruby: In the Desert. We all know this.

Emerald: Underwater... We know this also.

Okay. So we are all on the same track now. ^_^

Use Hades on Ruby's ass. It'll cast "stop" on him most likely, so then at that point you can keep casting Hades-Mimic until the ugly mofo is dead. Even though beating it with summons is "boring", there is pretty much no other way. Sorry.

I beat ultimate awefully quick about 8 minutes, without any summons too.. huh.  Though I used Omni slash about 10 times now that I think about it.
Oh well it was fun.. and challenging to keep alive as he was blasting 2 times per round. (ugh).  I am glad I had 100 phoenix downs and Life coupled with a MASTERED ALL materia (saved my bacon).

i set this up:

" I think you have to eq with:
Elemental with poison and with few other materias (with enemy materia)

During the battle Ruby will be infect with poison (which isn't easy)
Also Ruby's hit points will decrease; furthermore,
You really don't have to use final attack with phoenix anymore!

Just keep attack Ruby's two craws after that main body
(You know how BIO and Poison works…) "

and i have been playing him for hours.

does he heal himself ?

does sense work on him ?

what is his max hp ?
