....here...read.
Read the stuff on the right. Ignore the FF8 config...2 part.
http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/hosting/ffsf/download_8.htmlAll you do is hit that load button...and search for the FF7 soundfonts that come with the game....and put the bigger "FF7.sf2" in, and then the "lb2.sf2". There inside the FF7 directory.....I think, in the MIDI subfolder.
There are a few more but ignore them....they're for soundcards with less RAM. And the SBlive ram is almost unlimited....depending on your system Ram.
----
Open your FF7 Configuration Program
Go to the MIDI tab and Select the following:
MIDI Driver:
A:SB Live! MIDI Synth
MIDI Data:
Soundfont MIDI (Creative AWE32/AWE64)
with luck, it will play something with the Test button....after hitting the test button, it's a good idea to unload all the Soundfonts and reload them....The Test button will sometimes add an instrument, that you don't want in there...and it will keep adding them everytime you push the button...hit it enough times, and it will eat all of the Soundfont memory. It's a bug. You want the red bar on the bottom to be zero....when you clear Soundfonts, if it still has a value, it means that they are not all cleared out. Sometimes you have to switch banks, to get them all. See that, "Synth-Empty", in the picture of the first link I left. That's where you switch banks.....they should all be empty when you start loading stuff in.
There is another way to test your soundfont....you need to configure windows to use the A:SB Live option instead of the Synth that it's probably configured to. On windows98 you go into Control Panel, and into the Multimedia Icon...and change the MIDI confguration in there, I don't know about WinXP.
Then you find the one wing angel midi rip, and play it in your media player.....let me see if that site is still up with a MIDI that I know that works...hmm...It's on my other computer...I can't leave a link for it....but these look like they are the same thing.
The "FF7 Midi collection"
http://www.ff7-universe.com/Download.htmlI'm going to guess that it's Lb2, but I can't tell....my office computer can't play Midi's.

http://www.geocities.com/threesixtyci/Soundfont.htmlThis link....it's a replacement for the FF7.sf2 that I made.
You'll need those two compression programs that I linked to, to unzip it. And if the bandwidth of geocities', overloads....you'll have to wait a couple of days to complete your Download. I think it sounds better than the original Soundfont, but I may be bias.
