Where can I find FF7 custom soundfonts?
« on: 2003-09-15 21:23:46 »
Pleasepleaseplease, before people start flaming me, I already tried all the links on this site and the ones in the useful links section to try and find a nicer soundfont for FF7, but none of them worked :( If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be uber-grateful...

Oh, and in case anyone cares, I managed to get my copy of FF7 working again - turns out it was FF7Music afterall - switching the output plugin to out_wave seemed to help for a while but then it started crashing again, so I'm turning back to soundfonts.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass!

What kind of "custom soundfonts" are you looking for? Be more specific. Are you sick and tired of the soundfonts that came with the game and you want another soundfont that spices up the instruments?

If you ask me personally, the soundfonts give the best sound for FF7. Even better than the PSF's (for a majority of the songs, anyways). If you're using windows xp and you cannot hear the voices for the final fight music, then I have made a soundfont based off the original soundfonts that came with the game that will fix all your windows xp-related soundfont troubles with ff7.

Also, what're your system specs? Basically all we would need is your sound card and your operating system, but any other info is appreciated.

Oops, sorry if I was misleading - I was looking for soundfonts to spice things up a bit, I'm not too worried about the last battle music (I usually just get to the third CD and just muck around anyway!).

My soundcard is a SBAudigy and I'm running FF7 on Windows XP (for some weird reason it seems to love XP but every time I tried it on 2k when I was using that it just crashed... but hey, it works now!).

Cheers for the links, btw - that's just what I was looking for! :)
