Rejects SP2? How so?

Anyways, it took me ages to find ACT1.5 too, as Microsoft no longer support it. You can find it here: http://www.joikkeli.org/janne/ff7.html - follow the instructions there. It worked perfectly for me. :)

Thank you so much every one for your help :'( now i get to play possibly the best game ever (i had almost given up).  Don't worry about SP2 i just had to delete SP3 it before it accepted.  But now I'd like to say a big thankyou to Aaron and Synergy Blades for all their help and finally Qhimm for making such a great site.  I sincerely hope that this site lives forever!!!!
Bye for now,
Sean :)

(runs off to play FF7)

Uh...okay...you say you fixed it, then post about an hour later saying you have a problem with something that happens before the first battle. What is going on over there? Well, enough patronizing of you...it's extremely uncalled for.

Windows 2000 is actually really terrible with ff7 for me. I think I got it to work at one point using Qhimm and Jedwin's chocobo patch, which must be used with the updated version of ff7.exe, which can be found at eidos' website. Give us some updates if you discover anything new....hopefully you've considered my suggestions.

Don't worry I deserve to be patronised  8) i got a bit excited when I finally found toolkit.
Still though I had already patched it previously with the chocobo patch so thats not it -_-
Oh well I'm gonna try and install the whole thing again...hopefully that will help ;)

reinstalling the game helped to get rid of the dumbass guard crashing the game....but left me back with the original problem of the game crashing when the first battle begins  :weep: I've followed the advice on http://www.joikkeli.org/janne/ff7.html and installed the chocobo patch, but that didn't work -_- .  Once again any help here would be appreciated.

Try putting DirectX Sound into basic acceleration

type dxdiag...and go to the sound tab.
