Hi,
I worked on this for quite a while now and I think it should go public. :)
Since I'm dead tired, I'll just copy some text from my readme files for now:

------------------------------------------
Final Fantasy VII Music Patch, Version 0.3
------------------------------------------
This patch replaces about 98% of the game's MIDI music
with MiniPSFs ripped from the the PSX version.

--------------------------------------------
Final Fantasy VII GeForce Patch, Version 0.9
--------------------------------------------
This patch should fix the usual graphical errors when
running FF7 on a newer GeForce card in hardware mode.
It was tested on a GeForce3 TI200 with Detonator 45.23
installed.

Acknowledgements:
Neill Corlett for creating the "PSX Sound Format" (PSF),
Ficedula for creating FF7Music (among many other useful
tools) and Rubicant for combining both, which drew the
blueprint for this patch. Last but not least Qhimm and
Jedwin, since their Chocobo Patch is included here as
well.

Please note that both releases are still very untested and surely need
several improvements. Furthermore, you shouldn't mix up installations of
any of those patches, there is a combined patch that includes everything.

The Music Patch  (German)
The GeForce Patch  (German)
The [Combined] Patch  (German)

What did you use to rip 'em?(If you ripped them yourself :-? )Nice patches.

Neill Corlett ripped the FF7 psf's, and he came up with the PSF file format.

His music patch is a nice one-step process that takes the installation complications out of my ff7music psf package (hosted by aaron, and the ffsf website). I suppose it's a more productive way of using the package...

Good job, Cyrus.

Even without the GF patch, FSAA works well with new chips (gf3,gf4ti,fx5600).

http://www.geocities.com/halo_halox/page_2_2.htm (R=rendition patch)

8xS and 2x2 work in 43.45 ~ 44.xx.
2x2 mode works in 45.23.

For new GF card (gf3,gf4ti, or fx5600), 2x2 and 8xS are not supported in Detonator control panel by default. So you will need rivatuner to set AA. I also enable "DX7 8bit paletted textures support" with rivatuner.

rivatuner |2x|QAA|4x|4xS|4x 9-tap|6x|8x|12x|8xS|2x1|2x2|
gf2mx.... |....|.......|.....|......|.............|....|....|.....|......| 2x| 4x |
gf3..........|2x|QAA|4x|????|???????|??|??|???|????|.......|???|
gf4ti.........|2x|QAA|4x|4xS|???????|??|??|???|????|.......|???|
gffx5600..|2x|QAA|4x|4xS|???????|6xS|8x|???|???|......|???|

Old gf2mx supports two AA modes. However, with rivatuner, new chips support 10 different AA modes(2x, QAA, 4x, 4xS, 4x 9-tap, 6x, 8x, 12x, 8xS, 2x2).

For new chips, 2x2 mode is also useful in Resident Evil 1~3.

@ Rubicant
Thx, these word make the work worthwhile after all. ^^
I might add that I altered the game's midi.lgp as well, so the missing tracks (see thread HERE) are still played as midi (through M$ GS Wavetable by default). I guess that's as close as the whole PSF thing will get untill someone finally rips those tracks. May we talk on ICQ some time ? I could use help with tweaking the Winamp plugins a bit more.

@halohalo
RivaTuner & 8-bit palletized textures? Well, guess what my patch is all about ?
What the GF Patch basicly does is upgrading the game to 1.02, applying the Chocobo Patch and disabling those 8-bit textures for DX7 apps. And everything is returned to it's former state on uninstall. My work isn't a godlike revelation regarding coding skills, but it focuses on ease of use, so - as Rubicant said - even less skilled players might enjoy their game a bit more. :)

In that case, congrats Neill.
Good job also :D

I added German versions of my patches and if anyone could provide me with a 1.02/Riva patch in any other language, I might be able to create patches for this version as well.

Edit: Also added my Win2k Fix, which enables the compatibility fixes "EmulateReadWrite", "Shrinker" and "Virtual Registry" for all FF7.exes  I came across so far. This should solve some crashes under Windows 2000.

Sorry, could you be a bit more precise ? You used Qfixapp by Microsoft to run FF7 on a Windows 2000 machine, did I get that right so far ? So which program combination didn't work now and which fixes did you use in Qfixapp ?

i have the qfixx from that site wich explains how to play on win2k.

and with all the things u mentioned clicked on, but because i am running SP4 the fix i create using that program doesn't work, the fix only on SP2. with SP4 u have to start the game using the toolkit evry time :) but i don't care as long as i can play :)

Hm, I got SP4 and with the "Microsoft Windows Application Compatibility Toolkit" (it's like Qfixapp, just bigger and less easier to use) I was able to play FF7, but always had to run it through that Toolkit like you do. Now with that fix installed it works without the chunky M$ prog, which is sorta relieving.
