Animevamp Patch
« on: 2004-04-05 01:13:00 »
i want to say that WinXp 1.4 is needed here. Without it, the game crash to window. With it, works prefectly. Only to point that. And... whats the problem with GM.DLS file?

Mod Edit: Split from this topic due to excessive resurrection.

We don't like the Animevamp around here because it appears to be a ripoff of other patches, and replaces your GM.DLS without warning you (and for a novice user, it's difficult to get it back).  The GM.DLS contains the instruments used by the Microsoft Synthesizer, and with the version that Animevamp installs, your MS synth all of a sudden sounds crappier.

Did you try the 1.02 patch before posting this?

Of  course. For that reason, i reply in that post. Because with 1.02, the game DOESNT work at all. (like the other guy). Kick to desktop. (oh yeah, also i try with and without chocobo patch).

Also, if i use compatibility mode, winxp FREEZES.

But with xp1.4, works marvellous. I only want to point that. Maybe is a usefull patch after all?

If it kicks you back to the desktop, there is probably something wrong with your graphics configuration.  First things first, did you try it in software rendering mode?

Yeah, i tried all (yes, tnt and riva, software, setting my ati9600, switching 16/32 bits, compatibility). With vampire, works. Without it, no. Kick to desktop before EIDOS logo. I read all faqs and forum. For me, at least, vampire patch work. 1.2, doesnt. (i installed the game twice, also in two different machines)

Mmm.... maybe its 1.2 patch. Vampire patch exists for Spanish Version.1.2 maybe its not compatible with spanish version....

Well, i need to play up bike minigame, and cosmo canyon....

1.02 is most certainly not generic.

Eidos's support page seems to be down ATM, or at least I can't get to it, but there should be a Spanish version of the patch.

No... AFAIK, most FF7 cetra patches you will find are for the English version of the game as well.

As for the Spanish 1.02.  Not sure exactly what it is, I was looking and came across the French and German ones one though so I'm pretty sure it's out there.  I can't seem to find Eidos's Spanish site.

It seems that the Animevamp is smart enough to pre-emp this, possibly by replacing the one in the DLLCache folder.  Not really sure, I never installed that thing on my computer myself, info is coming from here:
