I can't get a gold Chocobo with Jenova

:wicked:  This angers me. I don't want to use the Tiny Bronco to slowly navigate the huge world map.
I got the Chocobo in the game, (Larry, by the way), but i go to the farm, and all i hear is
"They're" expensive aren't they?" or "How bout a Chocobo lure materia?"
NEITHER ONE OF THOSE PEICES OF TEXT HELP ME!!!
Also, Larry is in his stable. He is well, he seems happy, BUT I'M NOT BECAUSE I CAN'T RIDE HIM!!!

I don't think you can ride Larry til you actually get the offer of renting out stables on disc two or three, not sure exactly when. If you think about it, if you were able to ride a Gold Chocobo on disc one you could go straight to the City of the Ancients and miss out a big portion of the storyline. So I'm afraid you'll have to go along with the Tiny Bronco for the time being until you go back to the guy at the farm and you're asked if you want to get some stables. At that point you can ride Larry.
