You're not using any patches or hacks on the game, are you?  Sounds like what happens when you try to play the game in 32-bit.

How about your system specs?

And have you tried running the FMVs off your hard drive?  Do they play in Winamp?

The Fmvs are already runing off my hard drive and the run with winamp. ive run the game with the 32-bit patch and the normal 16-bit game. I am runing the game with the 1.02 patch. my graphics card is a Ge-force 4 Ti would that effect it with latest drivers ?

*Remembering that the solution to so many technical problems is simply "is it plugged in?"*

You have edited the registry key accordingly correct? Change the video path to know that the vids are on the HD and not the CD?

2nd thing, make sure theres a \ at the end of the key, should look something like this:
C:\Program Files\SquareSoft Inc.\Final Fantasy VII\Movies\

D'oh, haha, forgot that your issue wasnt that they dont play, its that theyre messed up. Multi-tasking at the moment, my apologies.

I presume the movies dont have the black band problem when you play them in WinAmp?
