i was casualy glancing at this topic, and i must say its my favorite kind.
its the kind that turns into a ton of questions with little to no sure answers and then i find it and answer everybody at once

run all games threw a unecm program of your choice" unecm is a indespensable game tool that basicly "defrags" games to make them faster and compatable" just type in google any arrangment of the words ecm, unecm, or run ecm iso's and you will get a better explanation.also final fantasy has released (for free i might add) special edition's of its games for pc. there ment to be play'd on the pc and are FAR more compatable. as for FF8 sound. use petesDsound. my computer is from 1989 and im playing at full speed with perfect sound o.o let me reliterate that, my computers software is phoenix lab 1989-2001. purchased in the year 1998 or so.....so ya...trust me its a good sound plug in.
last but not least,
and this is most likely common sense, but,
a gpu(graphics plugin) is usually linked o.o by the soul...to the spu(sound plugin)and cdr(the virtual core of your emulator)
evidence of this is in any and all cdr's there is an option to turn off audio/graphics list "list" as in, it will ignore certain Musical events that slow your computer down, or skip game video's intirely. also the option (dynamic link Blocking) has a direct influence on speed, but thats only needed on the n64....my point is that wether its an n64/espxe/psxfin, or no$gameboy
your gona wanna try combination of all 3 types, even if one stank to begin with, it wont always stink.
