FF7 wont run on XP

Hi,
looked arround and didnt find any match.

SysSpecs:
XP Pro SP1
P4 HT
ASUS p4c800 Deluxe
512 DualChannel
Radeon 9600XT
OnBoard SoundMAX

catalyst and driver: newest

-Installed FF7 FULL
-copied Movies to HD (reg-path adjusted)
-installed 1.02 Patch
-checked TNT (using 640x480, D3D)
-installed chocobo-patch (the same like 1.02 )
-installed movie patch
-installed TrueMotion2.0

game wouldnt run, also didnt with compatibility mode.

installed AnimeVamp XP1.4 Patch:
-game worked
-could use ficedulas "windowed" hack to run game in window (o.k. it had -no borders and sticked to upper left corner, and wenn i left the window i couldnt return)
-couldnt find code for 32bit color hack (found in 1.02 but in Vamps 1.4 it is not present)


read at this board that this patch is crap.
deinstalled it (used the vamps uninstall-routine, does this uninst everything?)

so now im tryin to run this game with 1.02 so i could use high-res gfx
BUT IT WONT WORK  :weep:

any suggestions?

So I guess you mean it crashes immediately without giving you an error, or just sits at a black screen, or what?

oh, sorry

game goes blank without doing any more (no sound) when i use compatibility mode.no error message
without c-m, goes blank and then returns to xp
