Quick favour - any PC FF7'ers that can help?
« on: 2004-12-16 20:15:21 »
I'm having a problem passing barrett's gun-arm story in the corel prison. The game crashes after the white-out when him and Dyne are told of shinra attack. SO, to cut it short, all i need someone to do is take my save-game file, go through that sequence, and directly after re-save and pass it back.

Would heavily appreciate any help. After all, I was just getting into it.

Please do this for me, as quickly as possible.

Thanks all in advance.

No-one?

Hmm, the sooner I can have this done, sooner I can continue playing.

Please try to be patient.
This is a slow forum, you barely waited an hour before posting again.

Although 25 hours is still not much time here, as the number of active members is low and the number of members that can and will actually help you is even lower. Add that to the fact that few visit the forums daily, and fewer have FF7 handy to load up at a whim. Though the instinct to continue playing is strong, please be more patient. I would help you myself, but unfortunately my current computer won't run FF7 (oh the irony).

Well, you're all correct.

After all, FF7 is an old game, and PC players are a minority in it.

The alternative is to get the PS1 version off one of my friends and use an emulator to play it. Though that means starting again, it guarantees stability of the game as the emulator handles the rest. Either that or use the household's PS2 to play it, which I'd very much rather not.

I'll try that instead.

Thanks anyway.

if you crashed there, like i did with the PC version, then you might also encounter problems at these common crash spots: Cosmo Canyon 1st visit with Bugenhagen, Gold Saucer Gondola sequence with Tifa, Junon prison escape sequence with Weapon approaching from the west, and there were a couple others I can't remember off the top of my head. The Barrett flashback sequence is the first major crash so just get prepared for these other ones (assuming your copy has the flaws mine did)

I've changed its expiration, it will be there for around 2 months. That should be long enough.

Thanks all -

I've managed to obtain a different FF7 off a mate, and using that save game I've been able to carry on, up until the first visit with bugenhagen, upon which it crashes.

I guess I'll have to just leave it - too many crash points, far too annoying, plus I have to admit I find the action too bland in comparison to FF8, so I'm going to abandon FF7.

Thanks all for your help, nonetheless.
