Crashes when I see Yuffie in the random encounter PLEASEHELP

title pretty much says it all: in the junon area where you first defeat yuffie and recruit her, you find her in a random encounter in a forest. well, I beat her then instead of going to the scene with the fake save point the program crashes. I've never seen anyone else with this problem, but hopefully someone out there knows how to fix it.

laptop
been running it in software rendering mode, and its worked fine until now

Hmm... do you get to the exp gained screen, or does it crash before that?

With PSX FFVII, you can fix that problem (PSXMem Tool)
But if you don't have a copy of PSX FFVII

i think its after, but remember that you don't get any exp for beating yuffie. i'm pretty sure it's right when the area with the fake save point is trying to load.

Yeah, you do get exp, etc for beating her...

STEAL: n/a XP:340 AP: 40 GIL: 800 WIN: n/a (varies based on what level you fight her at)

Once you're done with that screen, thats when you oddly enough wind up in the field (even though you were in a FOREST on the WORLD MAP -_-)

ok so i put it into quarter scrren mode, and activated the tnt textures (which made it look like crap, but whatever) i fought yuffie and it went to the field! yay. but then we add in the human element... me. I did everything right, except i named her and she ran off with my cash. damn... so i start running around the forest again, and i run into her again, i beat her... then it crashes in the same spot. (yea i was wrong, you do get exp) why would it do that if it worked the first time? is something different about the field after you name her?
