FF8 (Demo) Version.
« on: 2005-01-21 05:16:03 »
I found a download for the demo to try out, my mate says he has it and would sell it to me(proper version)  but there are some issues like the menu's/text looking really crappy on either selectable resolution.

Is this only crappy looking in the demo? or is there a possible patch to make it look a little better *doubts it*.

EDIT: It seems it looks slightly better in software mode as my card doesn't pass the 8-bit textures or w/e in the config. Also in battles the top and bottom of screen around 30 pixels or so flashed very oddly oh well.

The Developers of both PC versions where lazy and pretty much fucked up badly when it comes to compatibility & graphics. Chances are it will look as crappy as the Demo.. On the other side is Final Fantasy..

I think i may pull out my ps one then and hope the scratches on those old discs (mainly first and second) plus ePSXE will play it well enough for me.

The only real good ps emu i know is ePSXE anyone have any other suggestions for playing FF8? i haven't played any final fantasy games on an emulator before and ive heard people have had trouble with certain aspects of the game.

if you ever get the full pc version go here http://ffsf.cjb.net/ . you need to go to the soundfont final fantasy VIII section to get the config.

they have a config for final fantasy VIII which helps with text and other things.
