FF7 with a voodoo 2
« on: 2005-01-21 19:58:55 »
Hi, I just installed my old voodoo 2 into my computer.  I installed the drivers and rebooted.  I checked the FF7 configuration to see how I did on the tests.  It said I failed all the tests but the 8 pallette one.  Is a voodoo 2 not eough to handle FF7 for PC?  Any tips?  Thanks.

What OS are you using?
I don't know much about what 3DFX drivers are around now, but it sounds like your drivers are not compatible with Direct3D -- check around online and see if you can find any different ones?

I can play FF7, but when I set it at the 640x480 setting full screen its laggy.  I have to set it on 640x480 qaurter screen, but its soo small  :(  and a little choppy at times.

Do not double post, raaarr!

Anyway, look for Win2k specific drivers.  Win 2k isnt very game friendly, in my experience.

Will installing any of the patches help with passing the graphic tests?  Sorry about the double post.  I was just excited to get FF7 workin on win2k.  THanks.

If you want to use hardware rendering, you must have Direct3D support.

Getting Direct3D support means updating your video card driver, not your game.

Guess I can't have Direct3D support because windows 2000 or WinXP doesn't support Direct3D for voodoos
