Forgive a newbie for asking a question
« on: 2005-02-25 01:16:17 »
Thanks to the forum here, it only took two days for me to get my copy of FF7  PC to run on my computer two weeks ago.
Being a college student, I need a "pet project" to keep myself sane under the strain of college life.

Anyway, I began messing around with Ficedula's Cosmo (v0.95) text editor.
However, I notice that the changes I make have no effect on the game when I get to the parts where I have edited the text.

When I try to apply the self extracting patches, I get this error message:

Access violation at address 00000000. Read address 00000000.

Gah, so very frustrating.

Anyway, here is any info I hope is helpful.

Windows XP SP2
Nvidia GeForce4 MX
512 MD DDR SDRAM
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 2.09 GHz
Full Installation
FF7 1.02
Chocobo Patch
FF7betap1
FF7w 2.0.0.5
Sephiroth Patch V 1.10

Any help would be greatly welcome.

You need a different version of ficedulla.dll.  Try going back to his page and digging through the archives.

Thank you for the advice, EmperorSteele.
However, trying that, I still get the same error.
When I try to use the internal patch applier of Cosmo, it changes the text, but there is no change.
Damn, this sucks.
