All right.. here is a question did you rescale the hirez cloud model to fit within the same dimensions of the cloud field model? Same with the other characters.  I'm certain the game will have walk mesh issues if you don't.  Also some scenes might look.. odd :)

As for what's happening there the only way to find out is look at the field script data that is causing the characters to pose.  I know the textures for the field characters are different.  Maybe someone ought to make an image without the patch to compare it.

A suggestion is to allow the 'patch' to be reversable.  Might be handy for debugging some scenes.

I downloaded the patch and set it up and love it so far. I havnt left the world map yet to see if it works there but I will eventually arive. Also if you have trouble getting to certain area's why not just keep two copies of the char.lgp, one that is the original and one that is patched, so if you have issues then just copy of the original, get to where you are going and then just replace the patched file.

I played through the game until the first save point in the slums with this and even though I love their level of detail, those new models simply don't fit into the surroundings. And since the whole game was designed to suit the original,  super deformed proportions, a realistic approach will probably never quite cut it.

Just hypotheticaly speaking, how about models more in the air of FF9 (SD but detailed)?

I also like the SD aproach Cyrus XIII, but it looks like that there is a lot more people (Reunion, for example) who likes the realistic one. If you want SD models, you can try using a little tool I posted at the Programming feedback forum. The FF7PC field model resizer lets you change the size of a model and make it SD-like automatically (don't expect the result to be very acurate, though). Try playing with it a bit. It's simple. You have also a nice FAQ made by ice_cold513 in the pack.
By the way, I've been very lazy lately :-P. I'll try to release 3 more models next week.

I've been here for a couple days and from what I seen I didnt notice reunion having a dedicated site for this patch. I had to scroll through I believe 11 pages of forum to find the updated download link for this patch.

Hi guys.
I have just installed FF7 (German) on my PC and downloaded the 'Animevamp 1.02 German Patch' !  Everything's good, everything works but the patch doesn't. How you can think, i have other files than you have in the english version. There it is not ****_us, there is ****_gm . So i did all right (I'm sure), all what's written in the little tutorial of Veclord, but i get this when i want install the patch:

I beg you, i want to play this game with this high res textures/graphics and could someone do a little change of the patch for the german version. I'm not good in speaking english, so sry for this. It would be very nice.

Mmmm... that's strange. That message meaans that the file has been modified. Maybe that Animevamp patch did it. I suggest you to try Reunion's patch before animevamp's one.
By the way, I don't know if Reunion has a dedicated page, but I don't. Sorry.

No, i had the 'Hand Patch' and cause of this it didn't work.
Now all works fine, thx for help. I hope a new version will come soon.
There are many bugs with the patch, that must be fixed.

aaand 3 days later i finally get this and the Avalanche team patch to work.


and the music patch.


and all i can say is.


sweet fuzzy blue jesus, god but are they beautiful. the clipping really is minimal, and dammit they look good!.

i'm hesitant to try to apply any other patches, as i fear the evil CRASH.

Note: The hands patch, if you use it before the reunion patch, doesn't seem to work. reunion patch then says it doesn't recognize certain files.

i havn't the guts to try it afterwards...not now that it's finally working...

Here you have a little update for my part of the project. 3 more models added (yeah, not very much after such a long time but, you know, I'm lazy and so). With this all the models until you get to the train should be hi-res.

i keep gettting a crash at the second reactor near the start of the game. it happens just as the fight with airbuster begins. just freezes and then crashes back to desktop. any help?

Hello. I'm new around these forums. After founding my copy of FF7 PC, I was searching for info and patches around the net for playing one more time, and suddenly I founded this thread, wich inmediately caught attention.

After reading a bit, I downloaded the patch, and I have to say that it's the most impressive work I've seen. You guys have been making great progesses, and the result is much more than enjoyable.

And then, the last I can say is: Thank you very much! I really hope to see more stuff like this. :)

Eigaar, I plan redoing all the other NPCs... until I get tired. I think that Reunion said he wasn't interested in the other NPCs. Nothing surprising, he has already done more than enough.
If you want to do a page about the project, I think it's fine (I'm not going to do a page about it anytime soon). Don't know if Reunion will have any objections.

:o  man I have loved ff7 since it came out and I want to say that your work is incredible! I didn't think I'd be able to see the day when ff7 got even better, and people are complaining about the clipping problems I say It's better than the lego blocks that used to be running around great job man! I also have a question for you....would it be possible to update the sephiroth patch to suit the reunion patch? I say sephiroth in the kalm scene and I would love to have him as my main character. I was just wondering if that sort of thing is possible?

i know that with xp this game stuffs up but whenever i try to apply the patch it says it cant find it or the things not big enough do u need something to get it to work cos ive never used these things before
