Sounds like you just need to reapply the patch.. and, like I said, you apply the NPC patch the same way as the Reunion patch.

-Don't worry Eigaar,  understand you very well. I'm pretty busy right now too.
I think you should ask Reunion about his patch. I supose he won't have any objections, but you should do it. As for my models, do what you find better.

-It looks like both netscape and eresmas are having problems. Ugh.... I'll have to look for a new location to host my files. Thanks for your offering djzerious, mirrors are allways welcome.

-DjidaneElric, I use a mixture of files from both the spanish (mainly flevel.lgp to get spanish texts) version and the US one. I must admit that I didn't got that far in the game, though. If you can hand me a save game just befor the crash, I'd like to test and see if it crashes my system too.

-Tain, the 0.2 version of the NPC reconstruction project also contains the AVALANCHE models.
-Omegaplex, I think the problem is that the drag&drop method has some kind of bug. Try extracting all the files from char.lgp to a directory, copy there my models and then use the CREATE option in LGPTools to repack it.

-By the way, nobody realized that my models use to have too dark textures? That's because a nasty bug in my Kimera program that prevented it from calculating the normals of multi-group models correctly. I'm working to solve that problem right now. The new version of the patch will include corrected versions of all my old models.

Borde: Yeah, no problem. Just get the newest versions to me somehow (e-mail, AIM, MSN, Yahoo) and I'll put em up. And, btw, the 0.2 release only has 5 folders, and none look like they are named for the AVALANCHE team... maybe that's just my assumption that they'd be named after the members... but, otherwise, there are just 5 folders... :/

EDIT: hmm.. now that I look at it.. (with sleep I might add) I noticed that there are 6 folders... and the files are "avafat_sk," "avawoman_sk," and "avman_sk" .....to which... I will assume those are the AVALANCHE team members.... -_-

At any rate though, the more mirrors the merrier eh? :D

Borde:  Still having issues when it tries to load a scene with the altered models in it [crashes game].

I unpacked char.lgp into a dir then manualy copied all files into it and repacked.

One question, did I need to retain the folder structure or just copy the files out of each folder into the char folder?

Thanks...

If I am understanding what you did right... you need to keep the folder structure, I do believe. Or, copy what is in each folder, into the corresponding folder..

That's the thing.  When I extract char.lgp to a folder I don't have any subfolders in there.  Just over 12,000 files.

Where it stands is I extract char.lgp to a directory called Char.  Then I have the 0.2 pack and extract it.  This gives me 5 directories with files in each.  Do I just copy these directories into the Char directory then use LGPTools to repack it?

Or is there still something I'm missing?

Thanks...

You must copy all the files to that directory you created. I just set the files in diferent diretories in order to help people interested in modifying the models or viewing them with some kind of tool. There shouldn't be any subdirectories at all at the place you have unpacked char.lgp.
If you proceded this way already there must be something wrong with the models. Does it get to display something or simply crashes as soon as it tries to load any of the models?
Oh, by the way djzerious, that's right, those folders contain the avalanche members models.

I wonder if Reunion would like for me to mirror his patch as well... hmm... I guess he'll answer if he sees this post.

Borde:  Been doing a little testing and it seems to crash whenever the Wedge model is shown.  The rest appear to be working.  I load a new game and The Redguards load fine Biggs jumps down, Jesse loads and knocks one down then it crashes right when Wedge should jump off the train... :erm:

Here you have a new mirror for the NPC reconstruction project v0.2. Since the other one went down, here you have it. Please, keep in mind that it's exactly the same file posted weeks ago.
http://perso.wanadoo.es/eusebio2k/NPC%20reconstruction%20project%20(Stage%200.2).rar
Try with this file Omegaplex.
DjidaneElric, I played with your save game until it beat Rufus and it worked without problems. I'll try tomorrow with the completly spanish version of the game.

Sorry it took so long to post back.  Had some hard drive trouble.  Got everything back where it should be now.

Borde:  Tried that file and it worked like a charm.

B>F Model Convertion, NPC Reconstruction Project, Final Battle Cloud mod, and FF7Music playing the PSX PSF's!

:D I'm in heaven! :D

Reunion and Borde, thank you so much for this. It looks great in game. The only troubles are the clipping issues, but its not a big deal. The models seem to work well with the surroundings as well (I would have thought the heads would be cut off by doorways, but I was proven wrong).

Borde, do you plan to make every NPC (or most) into these type of models? That would be wonderful if you did. It doesn't bother me when Cloud walks up to a SD character in game, but it just looks a little strange  :-?

Thanks again for the great work!

-Hey DjidaneElric, I tried with the fully Spanish version of the game (well, I had to change World_sp and menu_sp in order to be able to install Reunion's patch) and I got past Rufus without any problems. I think the problem must be somewhere in your system. Did you upgrade XP with SP2?
-TDDx8, yes, I PLAN redoing all the NPCs. BUT, seriously, I don't think I can redo all of them on my own. Is way too much work for a single man. I'll keep working on this until i get bored. I hope someone decides to continue this project then...

Is it possible for someone to release a superdeformed version that looks like the one shown earlier in this thread? I thought it looked good, personally.
If no one wants to, can they show me how so I could do it myself?

Thanks,

Domokun

What are the programs you use Borde? If they are free downloads and easy to use, I could try and help. I have some very limited knowledge with creating 3D images. I could TRY to help at least.

I also had an idea. Are you going to try and make the different costumes that each of the main characters use at different times? (ie the Bear wearing a Marshmellow). If you are, couldn't you make these the actual battle animations as well (if we wanted a battling marshmellow)? That would be an awesome extra. I'd love beating Sephy with a dress wearing Cloud.

-Domokun, you can make the models SD automatically using a little program I did. You can find it in this therad:
http://forums.qhimm.com/viewtopic.php?t=4331
It will work for humanoid models but you may need to edit some parts manually in order to make it look right. It would be a good idea to release an SD version of all this mod, because I think they look much better (Barret specially).
-TDDx8, I don't create models from scratch, I simply use modified parts from the battle models. To edit those parts I use Kimera, a little program I did. You can find it in this therad:
http://forums.qhimm.com/viewtopic.php?t=4194
To view how your work looks like you can use Biturn.
As for the battle models, they work in a more complex way than field ones. I don't know them very well so I can't help in that area.
-Tain, you don't need to ask. If you want to make some models, just do it.

Borde Said  It would be a good idea to release an SD version of all this
mod

I have done that and start on a model and on my way home now to tune it up. I zip up all the SD models if anyone want them and Borde if you get msn and pm me your addy we can chat about the NPC's and get them up and running cos when i was working on the 1 I seen how hard and long time to get them working.
