FF7 and Trident Cyberblade issues
« on: 2005-04-05 18:12:30 »
I've just recently installed FF7 on my laptop which uses a Trident Cyberblade.  I got the RIVA patch and can select D3D, but the background graphics are distorted.  I can run it in software rendering, but it's painfully slow even in low-res.  Is there a way to get rid of this major annoyance or am I stuck?

I had a similar problem earlier, but I think it was due to me trying to install faulty drivers to get a piece of hardware to work.. I did a system restore and FF7 stopped lagging

I'm currently running Win98, fresh install.  I just want to know if there is anything I can do about the nasty backgrounds in Direct3D mode.

Is this an older laptop?
I'm not familiar with that video card, it's possible that it's not completely compatible with FF7 (in D3D).
